So, basically, we are putting "X" up against "XI".
My vote goes to eleven, because it's one louder.
I think Trek XI will clinch it myself - True,
X Men have been very successful, but:
a) the third one sucked
b) there's a difference between an '
X Men' film and a film called '
X Men Origins: Wolverine'. Meanwhile
Star Trek comes out with no subtitles, no 'who the heck is Wolverine?', no 'that sounds like a comic book', and one heck of a nostalgia factor, even for those who haven't followed it for 40 years (yes, amazingly, such people exist).
c) I can see
Star Trek's marketing surpassing
Wolverine's, both in scope and in quality.
d) Let's face it, every Trek fan is going to see this film at least twice. If only a second time to note major gripes, the nacelle cap brightness in precise candelas, and reasons to boycott a third visit, to post about online.
