Bialik's okay, Jennings isn't anything but a stand in for someone who could be much better.

While I really can't refute that assessment of Jennings, because he's got a speech impediment, he's kind of a wet mop of a person, & just doesn't have any real charisma as a host, I will say despite having been initially disappointed they were going to use him, he is infinitely more tolerable than Bialik has been imho.

Bialik is terrible (her pauses before stating whether an answer is correct or incorrect drive me nuts, as does her constant giggling)

As does her smarmy & hammy readings or comments, her penchant to overstate the excitement of the gameplay, & just her general demeanor of being a geek on fire. Take. it. down. a. notch. please. At least when Jennings is hosting, it doesn't take me out of the game.

I'd rather they'd get someone like Aisha Tyler, if they want a host with genuine fun charisma. Bialik's is very phony imho

Trebek always said he wanted a woman of color to take over the show, and specifically mentioned Laura Coates.

Jennings at least had / has the authority of being the greatest Jeopardy champion of all time, and he's a huge trivia nerd. He also got over the nervousness he had in his first run of guest hosting.

Bialik is an anti-vaxxer in a show about promoting intelligence, is terrible at the hosting duties (as I mentioned, the way she hesitates for a second to confirm or deny a right answer is awful, which means she doesn't even know and she's waiting for the judges to tell her through her earpiece), and is a terrible person in general.

I'm not saying Jennings is the one-stop answer to being the permanent host, as he obviously doesn't want to travel that much. But, fuck, Buzzy Cohen was right there.

I'm convinced now that Superchampion is the new branding for a decent player among a bunch of deadbeats they now allow on the show to artificially drive up win streaks. Even if these opponents do have some good trivia knowledge, they aren't bring any worthwhile gameplay

Every season will have at least one or two 20+ game winners now, probably... & it will get old. Holzhauer cracked the game. It's not a trivia show so much now as it is a gambling show for trivia buffs. Those that find the wager clues first can & do decimate the scoreboard totals

The only solace is that I really doubt anyone will come close to Jennings' total wins.

I heard tale they were considering a possible bonus for a consecutive run of an entire category in order. That could marginally curb people bouncing all about the board hunting the daily doubles, but even still, when these predator champs are playing, no matter when they find them, they try to decimate the potential of other players being competitive, even if they're correctly answering superior numbers of questions.

if I’m reading things right, at one point she made a decision not to have her kids receive certain vaccinations earlier in their lives but then had them vaxxed as they got older. That’s hardly “anti-vax” if true.
