Science advisor, no science advisor. It doesn't matter. Trek has never, ever been about scientifically accurate ideas. Some people may find this particular innaccurate idea too much for them to swallow - everyone's got their own reactions, and it's all good. But acting like this show is inferior because this scientifically ridiculous idea is "so much worse" than that one over there (why? because you said so) is flatly idiotic.
I think it is madder. Whether it is sufficiently madder to bother someone is up to the individual.

It's not so much that it's just a load of technobabble. It's that the underlying premise is so ridiculous basic logic causes it to fall apart. It's nothing other than a massive plot contrivance with lots of holes in it. And it's not even a MacGuffin (like Red Matter) that we can just forget about and move on from, since it's central to the entire plot of the show, not introduced in the first act then ignored.
I doubt they'd reset the whole season but maybe just the last nine months. We'll have to see.
Instead of "reset" a more accurate statement would be "finally choose a direction and pray it doesn't get overruled by corporate oversight who are logically more interested in driving subscription growth than in making a coherent production"

I want to see a reset back to pre-BoBS, just to see the reaction of the Interwebs to seeing whole season 1 of the first Star Trek series in 12 years wiped out. Seriously, I really want to see it!

Not a cut back, I have no problem with characters misspeaking and occasionally being wrong. I feel that Stamets is still in the process of completely understanding the mycelial network.

I'm cheered by the content of episode 14, on the subject of resets. They seemed to be taking us in a different direction after heavily signposting the time machine last episode. It also felt like they backtracked on the severity of the war, but that may just be Saru being a drama queen the week before.
His threat ganglia are not exactly fully functional. I mean he was Lorcas right hand dude, and he could still wear a hat if he wanted.
