The more important question being, will a Silver bullet kill him anyway?

As far as I know, the bat thing was Bram Stoker's idea. It was a staple in the old Universal DRACULA movies (which MONSTER SQUAD was referencing), but the later Hammer films mostly avoided bat-transformations, as did Anne Rice, Stephen King, Buffy, and nearly every modern vampire story.
I can't remember if Barnabas Collins could turn into a bat or not.
The more important question being, will a Silver bullet kill him anyway?
By Dresden rules, no. ...
But the only thing counting for that is what danellis posted about the vampires thinking Jacobs condition was necessarily inherited biologically, and, frankly, how the hell would they know?

Sorry, Dresden rules?
It's made fairly clear in the books that "werewolfism" is inherited.
Jacob says in the first books (before he himself turns) that one of the (Indian) tribe's creation stories is that they're descended from wolves.
