Spoilers Is it possible that Chapel and Spock were in a romantic relationship during TOS?

Chapel would have to be at minimum 90 for this to be the case. Not that there's anything wrong with that mind you, but it just seems odd then that she and Spock would wait that long.
Makes sense. Perhaps Chapel and Spock break off, Chapel marries Korby. The grief for Korby turns SNW Chapel into TOS Chapel. There's room for the dealings with Leila Kalomi.

Sometime during or after the TOS movie era, Spock marries Chapel. Do they have children?

And then Picard attends Spock's and Saavik's wedding in the early 24th.

I quite like Spock and Chapel together, but Spock would never allow himself to be with her because Spock has hella bad daddy issues. Spock wants to be Vulcan (with a capital V) to impress Sarek (although we all know Sarek isn't ever going to actually approve of his son, no matter what), so the last thing Spock would be willing to do is admit publicly to loving a human woman. It would "humanize" Spock in the eyes of his father to an unacceptable extent. Never mind the fact that Sarek did it. Sarek is a "do as I say, not as I do" father and Spock has totally internalized the criticism from his dad. Hell, Spock may even be trying to one-up and out-Vulcan Sarek specifically by not having a relationship with a human woman.

Chapel would be great for Spock, but Spock isn't allowed to be happy - certainly not in this time period. He did seem to relax a bit and accept himself more after he died.

Now if we want to play the multiverse game and grant them a little happiness in "this universe", I'd be willing to look the other way.

It seems, after watching the second season opener, that their relationship started (and probably ended) long before we first encountered them in TOS.

I never found the relationship chilly between the two in TOS.

she was in love with him, he just didn’t or couldn’t reciprocate.
My suspicions are that after Amok Time, Spock retroactively blames Chapel for the dissolution of his relationship with T'Pring. At least, that seems to be the explanation that most fits with what they appear to be heading for in Strange New Worlds.

I'd like to think the character we know is capable (after due consideration and soul-searching) of taking responsibility for his own contributions to that situation. It's not like Chapel is coming on to him here. She seems to have been giving him space in this opener.

Chapel was the one "helping" Spock every 7 years after Amok Time. There, everything works out now.

SNW period they had an affair, Spock/Chapel end it. Chapel moves on to Korby, Spock decide to keep his commitment with T'Pring, Chapel remains in love with Spock despite being in love with Korby cos its the 23rd century, monogamy is not the default for all human couples.

They have a similar relationship as Picard and Crusher. Both are attracted to each other, but they can't be together due to duty, other relationships, and various other personal issues. It's a "what might have been" scenario where they know they would be happier, it's something they can never have or they just accept that they can't have it so they don't try to make it happen.

So... Spock's Pon Farr timeline!

2267: Amok Time
2274: Chapel helps Spock after TMP on the Enterprise.
2281: Chapel helps Spock again
2285: Spock dies and resurrects and his pon farr schedule is rebooted, dealt with by Saavik.
2292, 2299, 2306, 2313, 2320, 2327: Chapel helps Spock out every time and they finally marry when Chapel is 90 something at a ceremony that young Jean-Luc Picard attends.

Chapel dies in 2374 at 137 (the longest confirmed human lifespan in Trek and going by the video game Starship Creator's birth year for Chapel of 2237). Ambassador Spock deals with pon farr from 2376 onward with the Romulan Commander from the Enterprise Incident.

Kelvin Timeline: Spock would undergo pon farr again in 2261 of the Kelvin Timeline. Unclear how this is resolved, he possibly visits Orion.

My new headcanon is that Spock and Christine get together after Spock has his emotions-aren't-bad epiphany in The Motion Picture, and they were actually a couple all throughout the TOS movies and the rest of her life.

You know, alongside keeping Jim and Bones as his boyfriends.

They are totally going to bang this season.

Spock: KOOOOOORRRRBBBBBYYYYY!!!!

T'Pring: Spock, who is Korby and why are you screaming his name?

Spock: Roger Korby is a professor of archaelogical medicine renowned for immunization techniques discovered in Orion ruins.

T'Pring: Yes, but why were you screaming his name?

Spock: ...

T'Pring: I see, then. I have to go now.

(later)

Stonn: So T'Pring, from what you told me about Spock shouting this professor's name angrily at the sky, the only logical conclusion that can be made is that Spock is gay and has some sort of unrequited crush on this Professor Korby. In which case, I strongly encourage you to dump him and go out with me. ;)
