Is anyone else excited about autumn arriving?

If we could have autumn weather with summer daylight times, I would be all set! September and October are absolutely beautiful here, but I do love the long days of summer (it's 9pm here, and already dark for about half an hour - I was just getting used to having it light until almost 10pm)

:rommie: I would actually like it the other way 'round: I hate all the light of the summer nights: at least in the autumn it's dark enough to not feel stupid for having some candles lit :bolian:

Weather-wise, I love the fall. I love the fact that it's cool in the morning and evening.

HOWEVER, I live in a major university town. This means that when fall arrives, so do the students. And setting aside how moronic most of them are, just from a population standpoint, things get pretty oppressive around here. The stores are finally beginning to recover from the swarm of locusts that descended a couple weeks ago to pick the housewares & groceries sections clean. And for the next 9 months, traffic will be a nightmare.

And don't even get me started about football season. *shudder*

I am because of two reasons:

1. I love that time of year.

2. My Desert Storm rash will disappear. I brought this rash back from Iraq and it only appears in the Spring and Summer, but when the weather turns cooler it disappears. The doctors have been stumped ever since 1991 as to the cause of this rash and it is resistant to any form of treatment.

 I love having the time to do all the daylight things I want to - and candles can wait until 10pm ;)

I look forward to autumn because it means winter is that much closer. I look forward to the dark, dead, cold days of winter. :)

I tend to disagree with you, Kestra. Winter has never make me felt so alive after sleeping longer like a bear. I went to bed very early like 9pm during the course of winter season. ;)

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the football. I'm all about the football. Better yet, football and baseball going on at the same time! :techman: Two of my favorite things in the world!

I look forward to only one thing in Autumn.

That and other October beers. This summer sucked. It's cool and raining outside. We're going on a tubing trip in Wisconsin this weekend --- high on Saturday, 65 F. The hell.

I just solved the problem of the upcoming long dark nights by giving myself something to look forward too.

2 1/2 weeks of much-needed sunshine in Mauritius in January. Can't wait.

And it's going to be FREE, suckas. :p

(thank you Airmiles, and a friend with a beachfront villa there...)

I love the autumn, it is far and away my favorite time of the year. From the end of September to Christmas I'm in seasonal heaven. I adore it when there is a slight chill in the air and the wind blows the leaves up off the ground and then they settle back down a few moments later.

I'm not sure why but I just feel really alive during the autumn, as if there's something romantic about it. Anyone else feel the same way?
Yep. That's exactly how I feel. Definitely my favorite time of year.
