Is anybody still playing Legacy for the 360?

I'd try this out online if I could find the game for a cheap price brand-new. The only place around here that has it like that wants $40 for it.

I'm still playing as well. I'm stuck on this one mission between the Enterprise A and the Enterprise D and no matter how hard I try I can't get past it... :(
The Borg bit? Yeah, I just gave it a go last night and my other ships get decimated within minutes.

Great I can't even get past the stellar debris mission. ARGH!!!

I like the Ent-A and fleet vs. the first Borg sphere and sphrettes. lol

A tip for the stellar debris mission is to use the tactical viewer thing, and only target the debris that's bracketed in red. You can still get ships to fire their weapons in the tactical view, and you can use the view to quickly jump between ships and target debris. Also putting all power into the weapons systems helps to recharge your phasers quicker, the torpedoes are somewhat redundant in this mission.

Note for the section where you place the turrets, you have to be in 3D when placing the turret, since just ordering the ship to the location on the tactical viewer won't bring the ship to the correct elevation in the z axis.

Yeah that z-axis was a bit of a PITA. I beat it, but it was when I kept jumping ship to ship like mad, the AI pretty much refused to fire at the 'blocked' debris more than one or two phaser salvos.

Can't afford a 360. I got three kids and live paycheck to paycheck.

I got it to run acceptably on a 939 Athlon single-core 1.8 @ 2.2ghz and a Radeon x700. At 1024x768 or 800x600 on the bigger missions. The same system runs Oblivion in the lower rez widescreen mode with almost everything cranked and with a touch of AA.

If I were doing an upgrade, you'd be welcome to the video card. I've had to put that off at least until the fall. But I think you could get your PC to swing it for under $100.

I can't blow up her super vulcan/borg ship.

Most photons I could string along is 4 and it dropped her damage to roughly half, but in seconds it was back to full. After exhausting almost all photons on it with nothing and the phazers doing nothing, I finally parked an Excelsior-refit next to the ship, and had the Ent-E close aboard, I self destructed the Exc-re right next to her super ship and then hit it with two or three photons. I got it down to a hairs-breath but before I could get another photon lock it was back up to full. The phazers are great for keeping her shields down but I can't get enough photon hits together to destroy it with it's half-second repair time. Argh!

It was a fun mission defending DS9 and destroying all the Borg ships till I got to that.

Do I have to let her ship and the cubes manuever closer to DS9 before doing a full court press on her ship?

I did 'lure' in a cube near DS9 and it was cool watching the station light it up along with my fleet. lol

However the creators of Legacy didn't like DS9 much did they? The Defiant gets captured and then it's not even at DS9 during the battle?

Yeah, I've just about had it with this video card, I'll see if I can't scrape up the cash for an upgrade...

On the other hand, I've fallen back with my old flames Star Control-I and -II and not that interested in Legacy anyway.

I think in that mission you just have to blast a number of the Borg ships that are with her, if I remember it correctly, though I may be wrong. If you have to pound her ship, there's not much I can suggest besides getting all your ships to fire as constantly as possible with power directed to shields and weapons, since speed doesn't usually end up being so important, as least in my experience.

What difficulty level are you playing it at, and what kind of fleet you using? Sounds like you might be short on credits if you're still using Excelsior-class ships, unless you're using it for it's cool aesthetics.

Actually it was on "Generals."

There must have been a game glitch as three of my ships I set upon the task of just blasting her ship, I took the Ent and dispatched the last of the Borg ships. My three other ships kept her shields down and her speed to a crawl of 1Mmps. When all other Borg ships were gone I turned the Ent upon her as well. There were Klingon and Romulan ships zipping about but none attacked her as my fleet was just ligting her up with phazers. lol

She couldn't escape so the escape sequence at the end of the that mission never came. I spent 20mins just blasting her with phazers, and I exhausted all photons on her. As I said my final attempt was to park an Excelesior-refit right next to her, self destruct it and then light her up with three photons from the Ent. Her ship showed about a hair's breath of life left on my sensors but regenerated before I could get another photon lock. lol

I just shut off the game at that point.

I hadn't realized she was supposed to escape for the final mission. lol So I was a step ahead of the game. lol I finally realized I was supposed to basically ignore her when I found a FAQ for the game online. :)

At any rate, I liked my fleet for that mission, A Soverign Class, Excelsior-refit Class, Nebula Class and Defiant Class. For my final mission I sold the Ecelsior-refit and replaced it with an Intrepid Class. :)
