Series VI has a better chance of succeeding 2009-post than it did pre-2009.

Beyond which, it gave all future Trek producers license to say "we're more likely to be successful if we just discard any of the old Trek stuff that doesn't make sense or appeal in a contemporary context. Everything is negotiable."
