Iron Man 2 - Rourke's Whiplash revealed!

The Iron Man equivalent of Doc Ock? A villian who won't have to take his mask off to fight the hero.

I would've liked him more as Boris Bullski (Titanium Man), he has the "Big Hulking Guy" thing down pat.

Now I know why Rourke's negotiations went on so long.

The producers were probably trying to get him to change his hair for the role.

The producers lost.

With the set-up in the first movie, I thought we'd get the Mandarin. While I'm pretty underwhelmed by the series, as a whole, the new cartoon has an interesting explanation (maybe the comics too, but I'm not as up on those as I am the other media) for the rings: they are not magical, rather they are technological, which I think would fit the movie quite nicely.

To me, not using the Mandarin as the main villain in this movie is akin to Nolan deciding not to use the Joker in favor of Catman in The Dark Knight.

Favreau said that Mandarin is the villain in the movies, but he's a background manipulator who sends other guys up against Iron Man. Like Emperor Palpatine and the Imperial Forces (and Vader). Stane was the one who usually did this in the comics but he's out now.
