Intrepid: Transitions & Lamentations teaser.

USS Intrepid

Everyone's been working hard on the post-production of Transitions and Lamentations, and while we're still a little ways off the release, we thought it was about time we gave folks a bit of a sneak peek at our next episode.

You Tube link.

That is indeed an old Akyazi, that's been drafted into use by the Federation Merchant Service. In hindsight, a Miranda would probably have been vastly better suited for the role we're using it for, but I had a bit of a soft spot for the class, so just went with it. :)

I don't know, making do with what one has isn't really a bad metaphor for the entire premise of the series, I would think. :)

Spiffy. That class is one of my favorites as well, and i enjoyed seeing one in action.

Visually it is amazing for a fan production.
Great costumes, sets, CGI ship work.

Is this in the UK?
I love the exterior location shots too. They look great in 16:9 framing.
The audio does need to be mixed.
Even a first impression of your teaser shows the sound work needs help.
What I heard of the dialogue needs audio compression/limiting to sit in the mix properly.

Please locate a real sound mixer with great gear that can donate his time.
Do NOT skimp on the sound FX, sound mix.

Yes, it is in the UK.

FWIW, that isn't the final sound mix, and we're painfully aware that our audio is far from perfect.

As for locating a proper sound guy, we've been trying to get someone who can help out in that capacity on shoots for some time, with little luck. Ultimately, we do what we can with what we have, and while we'd be the first to admit we're a long way from perfect, we most certainly do not skimp on any aspect of production. :)

Mr Intrepid,
They have been painfully picking at fan films for years. Please don't take it personally. I know myself how hard it is to do any kind of production, let alone a sci-fi film. But as for myself, i love your series and glad to see your continuing voyages of "Starship Intrepid"

It's cool, I didn't take any offense. Just wanted to make it quite clear that we do not skimp on anything if we can avoid it.

Anyway, the plan is to release Transitions and Lamentations on Friday, May 1st. If everything goes according to plan, there may be a special sneak peek for cast and crew a couple days earlier. Running time is 29 minutes.

I seen it Nick and it looks awesome to me. You have came along ways from the days of your 1st episode and the days of bad sound to today's episodes which (i think) are studio quality! Keep up the good work. I want to see more!
