Into Darkness DVD?

Gojira

I know the movie isn't out here in the US and I am one that most likely will not see the movie in the theaters. So I will have to wait for the DVD.

The Dark Knight Rises came out in July and was released as a DVD in December, about a 4 mounth turn around. Can we expect that same amount of time or do you think it will be longer, more like November or December?

Sorry if this is premature and the mods can close this if they think it is too early...but I was curious.

Will it be on DVD or just Blu-Ray and 3D?

I am sure it will be on both DVD and Blu-Ray.

I'd peg it at mid-November. That's about the time ST09 came out on DVD. Earlie would be nice, but don't bet on it.

Gojira, why won't you go see it on the big screen?

I have a disability called Chostochondritis. It is an inflammation of all the muscles and tendons in your ribcage. It makes breathing a bit of a challenge at times and overall it is a very painful condition. The more activityI do the more pain I feel.

Sometimes sitting up for a few hours can be very painful and the problem is that somedays are better than others.

Sometimes I can be fine one moment and in extreme pain the next. So when I am in a lot of pain I need to lie down and focus on my breathing until it subsides.

So I just don't bother with the movie theater anymore.

There will be a 3-D Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD, digital copy (iTunes and Ultraviolet), a direct from iTunes version and probably some other direct digital downloads. It won't be very difficult to find a format of the movie.

As for release date, I'd guess a bit before US Thanksgiving in late November, to make it part of the holiday season offerings.

Star Trek 2009 was May (theatrical), November (home-video). Since Into Darkness is being released in theaters in May, I'd bet on a mid-November home-video release.

DVD, Blu-ray, 3D Blu-ray and various combo packs thereof! Bet on it!

And iTunes, which is probably where I'll buy it.

I'll end up with the Blu-ray/DVD/3-D Mega Combo Pack even if I hate the movie. I'm such a sucker for Star Trek.
Hmm... that reminds me of someone I know!!! :techman:

nothing for us hardcore Betamax loyalists, huh?
Don't - I'm old enough to actually remember the Beta/VHS format war as a boy! I seem to remember advising my mum to go for VHS when we got our first machine - win! :)

It certainly doesn't take home video long as it used to, perhaps to try and defeat the pirates

Yeah, DVD, Blu-Ray, Blu-Ray 3D, iTunes Download, Netflix, Ultraviolet and whatever they invent tomorrow ;)

I am truly sorry to hear that, Gojira. I hope you see this film on DVD, at the latest, by the time that Thanksgiving roles around. If you have On-Demand services, you may be able to see it before that, too.
