Okay, stop right there. As a longtime member you should be aware of the rules regarding the discussion of piracy. Consider this a friendly warning.
Well, I'm afraid you are mistaken. We will not allow any discussion on the merits of pirating Star Trek on this board whatsoever. It's pretty cut-and-dried. As has been pointed out several times, we can’t control whether anyone does these things, but it can't be brought up here. You may like it or not, but this is a privately owned message board and as that it exercises its right to determine what can and can't be said. In order to operate the board is dependent on staying in good graces with the rights holders. And in order to do so we can't allow discussion about pirating their product. This has been decided upon a long time ago and it's not to be discussed here. This isn't all that complicated, really.Piracy isn't a bogeyman. We can discuss piracy without condoning it. It's a legitimate concern and (thankfully) a dying issue, but it will rear its ugly head if these big companies return to not providing reasonable avenues for releasing sought-after titles.
Weaver was right for bringing up the issue, and you were wrong for trying to stifle him. CBS should hopefully know better than to be waiting to release internationally. We can only hope that they hit a legal snafu when they moved the release date up and that they are diligently getting their affairs in order with other services to release on or around August 6th.

So, again, stop discussing piracy. Or we will have to hand out warnings. Comments to PM, if you feel you need further explanation. Thank you.
Maybe “merits” was a poor choice of a word on my part, I'm sorry. What I intended to say is that we don't allow it being discussed in any kind of way whatsoever. I can't make it clearer than that. I get that you would like to advocate against piracy, and that of course is a good thing in itself. But it's still a “discussion about piracy”, i.e. the one thing I asked you to not do in here. I didn't try to accuse you of endorsing piracy, I honestly didn't. I'm merely trying to choke off any such discussion early, so as to avoid inviting others to discuss the pros and cons of piracy.:/
Maybe it's early, and I haven't fully digested this, but you seemed to have read into my post things that are not there, merely because I mentioned the word "piracy", after you brought it up following another poster's implication that people (not him, not me) may resort to piracy due to CBS's actions or inaction. This isn't an opinion or wish, but objective fact. It's not against the rules, or it shouldn't be, to mention the p-word and ways to prevent it.
But that's neither here nor there, but I feel from your accusations and pseudo-warning, that I should publicly let everyone know that I am no fan of pirates. I want Star Trek to thrive, and preventing illegal downloads is the greatest way to accomplish that. To prove this a little better here's an image from my last payment to CBS All-Access (I cancelled in June but intend to restart it soon for Lower Decks):

After admonishing me for "discussing the merits of piracy" (I would never do such a thing), you then went on about freedom of speech or something. I get it, you're trying to prevent escalation into absurdity, like various YouTube videos, but I know how message boards work. I'm under no illusion about my "rights" or whatever when it comes to discussion topics (i.e. whatever the moderators allow).
It's just that I made one post that, I feel, was misread, and am immediately, publicly, called out on it, and said to send "Comments to PM". If you want to warn me in public, for something I didn't do, then I feel I should have the right (but, I know, I don't) to respond in public. If you want to warn me in private, then I'll respond there.
If the understanding is that real-world piracy can't be addressed, even negatively, then that leads to a Kafkaesque situation like in Germany where anti-Nazi protestors were arrested for breaking the no-Swastika laws.
Hopefully, this is the last we need to talk about this manner. In summation: I'm not a pirate, and I don't condone it, and have never, here or elsewhere, engaged in a discussion on its so-called merits.
Im sure they will stream eventually.I hope so. Still haven't seen season two of Short Treks yet as I thought they were going to be on Netflix again. And then the blu-ray came out...
I'm sure I'll catch up at some point, I don't know if I can be bothered to buy it just for short films.
Yeah. We might have to keep checking the "Trailers & More" section of TNG...It seems odd to me. You’d think they’d want it available in as many territories as possible for the launch. There’s been no word of anything. Although maybe it might pop up without any fanfare on Netflix as the Short Treks did (albeit hidden away where practically no one would ever find them without being told). Netflix has its share of sci-fi animation so it would seem like a good home. Maybe they are pissed at having every Trek except Picard!
If the Short Treks got a DVD and Blu-ray release, I'm quite certain Lower Decks is guaranteed to get one in due course.Nowadays you never know. For all we know the powers that be at CBS could decide to stop releasing TV on Blu-Ray, or just go the MOD DVD route by the time Lower Decks gets to home video.
I don’t think so. Especially with what’s happening in the world now, the might decide to go online-only with physical releases and only do MOD through Amazon. If the Short Treks got a DVD and Blu-ray release, I'm quite certain Lower Decks is guaranteed to get one in due course.
