Armada 3 wasn't an official licensed release. It was a big fan-made mod for Sins of a Solar Empire.

This "Armada 4" looks to also be a community project and not an official release.

Both is true.

Armada 3 mods arguably have the best-looking trek-starships in any game/mod. Played the mod, it was fun for a few matches, yet while, i really tried, I do not like the Sins of a Solar Empire / A3 gameplay as much as A1 and A2.

Armada 4 is more like Armada 1+2 or the spiritual successor of Armada Fleet Ops (mod for A2, but more stable). But with its own take.

The Armada 4 creators are still very open to ideas and how the gameplay develops, as it's in an early stage where people can influence the game.

And actually it's not just about 90th Trek ships, but ENT to Nemesis and post-Nemeis ships (Rhoad Island etc.)

I agree with the above. Didn’t like the SoSE gameplay either but would love a true Armada Sequel.

Could Armada 1 or 2 not be officially ported to iPhone btw?

Sad thing is, that A1-2 crashes in Multiplayer sometimes.

Yet the mods for A2 are pretty stable. Does anyone mind playing this, while waiting for armada 4?
