Data: I was in an isolation suit gathering physiometric data on the Ba'ku. M last memory is going into the hills, following some children.

 

[Leandar]

Sojef: Artim, do you remember where you were on the day of lightning when the artificial lifeform appeared to us?

 

[Vulcan Princess]

Artim: In the hills, by the dam.

 

[LeadHead]

Picard: Can you show us?

 

[Leandar]

Data: There is no reason to fear me. I am now operating within normal parameters.

 

[Brian]

ARTIM: What?

 

[Vulcan Princess]

Data: They fixed me. Captain, the boy is afraid of me.

 

[LeadHead]

Picard: It's nothing personal Data, you have to remember these people have rejected technology.

 

[Vulcan Princess]

Data: I am the personification of everything they have rejected.

 

[LeadHead]

Picard: Until this week, that boy probably never saw a machine, let alone one that walks and talks.

 

[Leandar]

Worf: Bridge to Riker.

[Vulcan Princess]

Worf: Admiral Dougherty is on the com link, sir.

RIKER: Put him through.

 

[LeadHead]

Riker: Yes, Admiral?

 

[Vulcan Princess]

Dougherty: Why haven't you left orbit?

 

[LeadHead]

Riker: Captain Picard didn't want to leave until we could adequately explain why Data malfunctioned. His future in Starfleet could depend on it.
