Insurrection Ending

Insurrection is a favourite of mine but it felt so unlike the Picard character we'd known to just leave the horrible bugger to a shiny-flame ending.

The Picard character we'd known has been MIA since somewhere around Generations. He was kidnapped and replaced somewhere along the way with a shoot 'em up action adventure Die Hard captain who doesn't seem to have too much trouble killing people in cold blood.

Technically it was not Picard who left him to die but the crew of the Ent-E. Picard did not give the order to leave him there as he was to busy battling for his life that was Riker and companies decision to not beam him up.
