Spoilers Inside Out 2

Saw it last night. Thought it was pretty good. My son loved it. I was surprised that there were only 8 people in the theater at my showing. I thought it was tracking for a strong opening.

Is school still in session where you live? That might explain the sparse attendance.

It's gotten very good reviews. I really liked the first film so hope to see this at the theater.

Inside Out 2 is a worthy sequel to the original that naturally progresses Riley's emotional journey growing up. While the sequel isn't as emotionally moving as the original (I still bawl my eyes out at Bing Bong's sacrifice), I love the exploration of Anxiety's place after puberty kicks in.

I went into the film slightly worried that it would suggest Anxiety only exists for teenagers, but I was relieved to see by the conclusion that Anxiety still exists in Riley's (and everyone else's) world, just in a more balanced state.

While Anxiety is the clear lead of the new emotions, Envy was my favorite of the four, while Embarrassment was suitably uncomfortable. However, a few funny side jokes aside, I thought Ennui was a bust and didn't feel like it should've been included as a core emotion (barely even as one for puberty on a temporary basis).

Ultimately the film is a triumphant in showing the complexities of emotions, especially for a developing teenager, and I'm open to seeing further films that would potentially introduce even more complex emotions.

I went to the first showing this Saturday morning and it was nearly a full screening with lots of kids. They all seemed to enjoy it pretty well.

I think perhaps one of the challenges is that Ennui isn't as easy to use dynamically as the other emotions, if that makes sense. I thought they did a good job with making Anxiety amusingly manic, but generally well intentioned even if her goal of improving Riley wound up messing everything up instead. :D

I also liked how they explored new elements of Riley's mind having the equivalent of structures, like the belief threads. :)

Saw it with my wife and we both loved it.
The very basic story is kind of similar to the first movie, but it mixes things up enough for it no to be very noticeable.
While Joy is still the "protagonist", the other (original) emotions get more to do here. which I like.
Ennui is the new emotion that I liked most, in the very few she had.

I don't think young kids will enjoy it much. It is more suitable for teens and adults in my opinion.
My 13 year old was the one who wanted to see it the least. I "forced" the family for Father's day.

Loved the movie and can see why it is advancing to be the #1 movie of the year (so far; it definitely stay in the top 5 for this year)

Yeah, that makes sense but I still maintain that it isn't really a core emotion and that it barely works for puberty as a temporary basis. I get what they were going for and the jokes with Ennui were great, but the nonessential aspect of it stands out for me.

Yup, I loved all of the new structures developed and explored within Riley's mind. Belief threads was the big highlight, but I also loved the smaller ones like sar-chasm and brainstorming. I hope we get more of these in a potential sequel.

Took the granddaughters (2 and nearly 4). The oldest likes the first one (well, they both do), but they like most Pixar and DreamWorks movies.

The 2 year old did say "uh oh" at appropriate moments.

I thought it was great. I really liked how the first one established the whole concept of symbolizing the depiction of how the brain functions with emotions, memory storage, etc. Building on this with the belief tree was creative.
