INCEPTION Hits the Shelves

William Leisner

Scribbler
Rear Admiral
I stopped into Borders this afternoon, and was shocked (and stunned) to find S.D. Perry and Britta Dennison's new TOS novel sitting there, begging me to pick it up and take it home. So I did.

And I was just wondering what I would read next, too...

JEALOUS :angryrazz:. Lately all of our local Chapters have been getting new books weeks late. ...grr...argh...

Lucky... This doesn't happen in Omaha. The Borders and Barnes and Noble stores here would just as soon Star Trek stuff disappear off the face of the Earth. Getting anything early just doesn't happen. :sigh:

^ It doesn't happen in Minneapolis, either; that's why I had to post it! (And, point of fact, a key reason I stopped into this Borders was to see if they had restocked Losing the Peace after selling out during the holiday. They have not, the bastards.)

Stop your complaining everyone, be happy about it, you'll get it soon enough, just think of it over here, and other places abroad, we have to wait upto six weeks before they hit the shelves in Blighty :bolian:

Are sure you have the right book? I just checked and the release date on there is January 26.

whuh? Amazon is telling me it's going to ship in May...

Yesterday, I received this missive from Amazon:

"Dear Amazon.com Customer,

"As someone who has purchased or rated books by S.D. Perry, you might like to know that 'Star Trek: Inception' will be released on January 26, 2010."

I think he was referring to William finding the book in a bookstore this early, not Therin's Amazon eMail.

Well, yeah, it's early in the window, but the third week of the preceding month is, in my experience, about the time when you'd expect to see a given month's title start to show up on at least a few shelves.

Can anyone tell me what year the book takes place in? Is it over multiple years? No story spoilers, just year if possible :).

^Sounds about right -- six years before "This Side of Paradise" is when Spock first knew Leila Kalomi. It's also 24 years before TWOK, which works if it's covering the, err, events that lead to the birth of David Marcus.

Maybe amazon is telling me may because I ordered it with the other new Trek books. But I can't seem to ungroup them, dammit.
