Improved vfx and models for S2

They were on hormonal space rabbits breeding ground.
It is known they like a bit of colour in their space to get in the mood. :p

You know, the detractors are right, we should return to the TNG srtyle of space background for a more 'normal' deep space look that they were doing in 1987 Star Trek like in:

...Oh, wait... ;)

I think it's very effective if it remains to be the exception.
Like, when it's used as a codifier for a very specific place in space. Somebody already mentioned the looming nebula in the Borg space on VOY, but the Briar Patch in "Insurrection" also counts, or the Mutara nebula in TWOK.

I always like it to highlight a significant space - like VOY's opening, where it was essentialy a highlight-reel of the most cinematic places the ship visited.

But as a general rule of thumb, the normal space - the regular one we see every episode - should be pitch black. Like the real space actually is. I can live with these little blue streaks (both here, and on the new Discovery shot). But I would prefer it to be more realistic.
