I'm sad, and there's no one to hug!

I understand how you feel (I've been down since Christmas ended).
Now back to being away from family, and being unemployed.

I think January is always a bad time (and for me, my fav time of the year is Labor Day-Christmas...now that's gone).

^^ Get a room, you two. :rommie:

There you go. That will bring warm tears of gladness to your eyes.

In defiance of Sadness, I went to bed early last night, got up at 5am today (2.5 hours earlier than normal) and went to the gym. Feeling pretty good so far.

Hugs make me want to kick and scream, unless it's a hug that I want.

From this thread I would deduce that seven times each day some gruffy geezers are rushing you on the street, holding out their arms and in Rip Torn voices saying, "Come on, sweetcheeks, give daddy a big one!"

I'd probably still hug that person.

Also in defiance of Sadness, after getting back from the gym this morning, I decided to have a Guinness for breakfast.

I approve. :techman:

It's not about the person being gross, I'm just not into physical affection the way many people are. It's socially acceptable for friends and loved ones to touch each other way more than I'm comfortable with.

I'm with you Kestra. I'm only totally comfortable hugging my wife and daughter. Everone else I feel sort of duty-bound to hug.

Oh man, my friends and I are all a bunch of huggers. Sometimes kissers. Sometimes we lick each others' faces (that's not always welcome  ).
