Ha ha ha ha! Lets all make fun of Warped9 because we like being juvenile assholes and snicker at the thought of being civil adults. It's not like the mods will give out any warnings or anything. Hey Warped9, fuck you! LOL!

Stating you are going to judge it without seeing it is pretty juvenile isn't it?

Ive never seen TOS. So this movie will be new to me. Of course I'll see it.

Also, im curious as to why those who are so adament about not seeing the film would consider even looking on the Trek XI board, let alone posting in it. Talk about being sucked in. Why waste your time on something you clearly have no intrest in.

I most definitely won't be there opening night. I'll be waiting to read what people here say before I go.

I'm concerned about what's going on with re-casting all the TOS characters. Clearly, it can't be Kirk and Spock meet in their academy days. Not with the others of the crew and the differing ages of the characters.

So it's either a flashing around, back and forth in time, or it's a TOS story where they're already all on the Enterprise. If it's the former, I can see myself liking it. If it's the latter... I've no interest.

The only reason I keep checking out this forum is the possibility of Romulans actually having a role in a movie. If it were the Klingons again, it'd be much easier to ignore this movie. I am hoping that I will hear something else about the movie that will make we want drive 35 to the theatre and 35 miles back from the theatre and will make me want to spend $10 on a ticket.I like watching Star Trek on the big screen, but if this movie involves something I don't like, then it isn't worth the trip.

Obviously the people on this board are much better at making up your opinion than you are right??

I can do one better than this though! I think we should start up a representative form of movie-going--much like the US representative form of government--whereby we elect only professional critics to actually SEE the movies for us, therefore we don't have to think about it.

I feel so badly about Paramount MegaCorp suffering a financial loss, no matter how small, in their humble and selfless effort to deliver "Star Trek" to us that I'm making the following vow:

On opening day for "Star Trek" I will purchase additional tickets in the name of every TrekBBS poster who has announced that they're not going to see the movie - one in honor of Warped 9, Akira Class and so forth.

Careful, Dennis.

If word of your plan gets out on the internet (i.e. all over the world), you could end up buying upwards of ten tickets before this is through...

And here I am still fighting American Express over the billing for all of those "Enterprise" Season 2 DVD sets...

Still waiting for my copy, asshole. And don't give me that "excessive postage to Starbase 11" bullshit again...

I've had a busy week. And a busier weekend. I don't know how it's possible but I ended up working more on Satuday and Sunday than I did Monday through Friday.

Kira's Mom hasn't gotten around to this yet. I don't see any point in leaving this open.

First off, proclaiming "I'm not going to see Star Trek XI!" is all well and good, except the people most likely to visit this forum are people who gravitate towards being interested in seeing it. What the Hell do you expect the responses to be? What type of discussion do you think will emerge? I've been here a decade and the course of this thread was as predictable as sunrise and sunset.

Second, it's not open season on posters who have unpopular opinions. As was said earlier, what did you think would happen?

I'm going to close this thread now, run through it, and then in a single post, list all warnings handed out if any. Bear in mind these warnings add up and at this rate some of you might not even be allowed to post here by the time Star Trek (2008) is released.

I am pretty certain people like Warped will be right up there in the front row, shouting at the screen, with a notebook on his lap to chronicle each and every egregious offence to his fragile sensibilities...and I am sure he will simultaneously be trying to figure out how to make yet another Space Ghost photomanip with the new design of the Enterprise, so he can once again whore himself out for the attention of those who fear change as much as he.

One warning for flaming.
