I'm legally more patriotic than most Americans!

While I would guess being a solider still trumps my patriotism I have proably moved ahead of most people since i'm now legally bound to be against terrorism. It was kind of wierd. I have to get work insurance for my job as a newspaper bulk carrier. The insurance is basically to say if something goes wrong on the route it isn't the newspaper's fault.

I renewed my insurance the other day but then the lady pulled out another sheet and said I need to sign it. Basically it's a document that says i'm agaisnt terrrorism. It is possible the wierdest reason I have ever signed a offical document to anything. I almost thought it was a joke at first. They didn't say it but in retrospect i wouldn't be shocked if it has something to do with the fact that I work on a army base.

As if a real Terrorist wouldn't be willing to lie about it. :rommie:

Any possibility of Posting a scan of this document? I'd love to see what it's all about. Sounds suspiciously like a "loyalty oath" of some kind.

I can try and get a copy but it will take a month. I make monthly payments so I only go over there on paydays.

Only if it's no trouble. I'm just curious to see what it says, and why.

When I moved to the States they made me sign a paper that said I wasn't a terrorist or a Communist.
I laughed. In retrospect, I shouldn't have laughed at the FBI, but it was just too.....odd.

So legally, I'm more patriotic than jayson.

I'm thinking it's just a formality to facilitate legal action, another charge, should a person actually turn out to be a communist or terrorist and get arrested for a crime. Then they could add punishment for officially, deliberately misrepresenting yourself, instead of claiming that you are being vilified after the fact for personal ideological beliefs which they'd never asked about.

When I worked for the state of Georgia I had to sign an oath that I Was loyal to the United States of America and not a communist.
This was in 2002.

That was my thought as well. Nice!

A Communist? :wtf: What the Hell year was that?
2005.

But, uh, Communism is not illegal. This is America, and not the 1950s version. Communists run for office and stuff. How can they get away with this? :wtf:
