I don't think I was part of those groups. The thing is I did notice my old account is still on here I just didn't know how to access it. When I tried to sign in it did send my new password somewhere but it could be space for all I know. Maybe bill gates has it.

You still have the same email address, don't you?

No because I now share a computer with my niece. Plus i'm no longer on AOL. I'm not exactly sure what I am currently on. To be fair though I know almost nothing about this kind of computer stuff.

An app that stores every password you have (the only password you actually have to remember, is the master password that unlocks the whole thing), and lets you generate new (strong) passwords. Plus it will fill in the passwords for you when you log in to a site.

Trust me, you need this. Once you get it, you'll wonder how you ever got along without it.

You might want to check out the current rules, Jayson. The board has also changed from what it was. I don't think you'll get away with Superman masturbating threads now.

Jayson, don't worry about trying to live up to the hype behind your return. Just let the madness flow naturally.

Hasn't the thought occured to you to simply contact an Admin and ask for your old account to be reactivated? They'd just have to change the account's email address to your new one (after you proved your identity in some way to them, of course; else everyone could hijack dead accounts. I take it, Bonzie knows you and your style, so that wouldn't be a problem.)

Mr. Laser Beam, I'd strongly advise never ever to use a password manager. Every software can be hacked or spied out. Your brain can't. This board is known to have sprouted a few ads in the past that were infested with malware-toolkits and spyware (some attacking at a mere mouseover - no click required) and what the criminals who program them chiefly want is your passwords for online banking, mail accounts, shopping accounts etc. Collecting those in one convenient file is serving your data to them on a silver salver.

I thought about it but I wasn't sure how to do it at first and I would have to remember my nieces email account and eventually it seemed like a waste a time. I never really cared much about rank or having a pic on my posts. This screen name seems to be okay so I am fine with it.

Password managers can't. They're protected by military-grade encryption. It would literally take a million years to break them.

And there's no way I could remember all the passwords I use. Then I'd have to use the same one all the time, and that is truly dangerous.

The only other option would be writing them down, and that's not gonna work either.

No, password managers really are the only way to go. They are as secure as anything on this planet, they help you generate strong passwords that can't be cracked or guessed (the most secure password is one that you don't know, after all), and it's the only efficient way to store them all.

Ok, I wasn't being cute early, but I have a legitimate question about that. Was TheGodThing really that horrible?

I guess I really only knew him from the movies forum where he really stuck up for The Motion Picture.

Yeah, as long as he was just talking about the space program or TMP, he was gruff but highly informative, so it's easy to see why he would be well-liked if that was your only exposure to him. It was just when conversation started to wander into more political or social commentary arenas and it came out that he is a literal, no exaggeration, supporter of Nazi ideology that you started to get that "back out of the room slowly" look on your face.

Off the top of my head, he once called a gay poster a "Pink Triangle" as an insult in reference to the concentration camp badges the Nazis would place on gay prisoners, and expressed his support for a number of different genocides and conquests by the Nazis and others over the years.
