I have, however the comment was made about someone Aldo knows personally and a situation he was obviously upset about.
There's a time and a place for that kind of humor, but this wasn't it.

Look, "mushroom bruise" might make a good punch line for a joke somewhere, but the way ed used it, it wasn't really a joke at all--just a suggestion made in extremely poor taste. I doubt he meant it seriously, but it's still a nasty thing to say about anyone.

Yeah, right. I've seen people make "worse" off-hand comments here and get away with it. Like I said, the fact that this particular comment was said by someone you have a pre-existing grief with seems to be a major factor in your reaction.
But then why should I be surprised, since all you seem to do on this board these days is sit in TNZ acting as judge, jury, and social executioner whenever someone says something you don't agree with.

I've had very little interaction with ed, so your suggestion that I have an ongoing grudge against him has no basis in reality. I'm judging him mainly from his behavior in this thread, which is far from flattering.

You're right, implying Aldo should sexually assault a girl who stood him up is fucking hilarious and not at all something to take offense at.
And here I am wondering if "mushroom bruises" are even possible. Given how bruises work and the various body parts involved it strikes me as more as an offensive phrase someone came up with that has no basis in any reality.
If getting hit by that, rather soft, part of the male body causes your skin to bruise you have a medical condition.

Hence my comment earlier. If you're hitting somebody hard enough to cause a bruise, I guarantee you're doing just as much, if not more, damage to yourself in the process.

If ed had suggested raping her as a way to put her back "in line," would you be okay with that? I don't consider what he said all that different in terms of how nasty and misogynistic it is.

Yeah, I had a go at a guy the other week for bringing up the old B5 vs DS9 bullshit (been a member here since '99 and sick of hearing that crap), I posted one or two comments in the Troll thread that didn't amount to much (two of which weren't even about this board), told someone to not be so sensitive about the paving slab joke in an old Doctor Who episode, started the thread about the racist tram passenger in TNZ, defended a fat white guy's right to make YouTube videos expressing his opinion of the world...

See, this is just another example of you going to an extreme to illustrate an irrelevant point. Of course I wouldn't think that was fine to suggest raping her, but that's a ridiculous extreme and that's not what we're debating here. You can pull as many "if" situations out of your arse as you like.
Well then, that's entirely your issue there. If you think an off-hand comment about a mushroom bruise (an action which has been surmised to be highly improbable that it would actually work) is in any way akin to advocating rape, you need a fucking reality check.
