Far as I'm concerned, it doesn't need to...just listen to how the asshole sounded over the car's radio.
I'd be sounding pretty similar to him if a little prick like that drove off with my classic car....and I don't beat women and children. He didn't sound like a wifebeater to me...just a guy really getting tired of dickhead like young Kirk screwing up.
Jimmy obviously wrecked the car
deliberately. He specifically wanted to destroy it. That much we know. So we must ask ourselves, why would he do that? To get back at the stepdad, obviously. The stepdad must have done something to deserve it. If George were still alive, Jimmy would never do that to *his* car. So the stepdad must be at fault here. He must have done something to
make Jimmy do this.
From what we can make out, Jim was a normal, easygoing type in the prime timeline. He wasn't like we see him here. The natural conclusion is that it was his upbringing in both timelines that made him what he is. In the prime timeline, George is there for him, and Jim grows up in a loving home with both parents. Here, he's raised by a violent prick, and look how he turned out. (God only knows what Winona must be going through.)
