I recall hearing dreams occur in the last ten to seven seconds of sleep, right before you wake up. So, if you die in your sleep before those last ten seconds, the dream never occured.

That's a myth, though. There's no evidence that time in dreams moves faster or slower, and you go through multiple stages of dreaming during sleep. If you wake naturally, you usually come out of dreaming sleep a good while before waking.

steveda, you noted a Twilight Zone episode, but this thread initially reminded me of a 1998 Japanese film called "After Life". You might be interested in it. The premise is that, upon death, people are given a week to choose a memory which they will then relive for eternity.

Yep. Even in a dream, I can always sense myself. Sometimes it takes a minute, but if I think I'm dreaming, I can always find where I am.

You always have lucid dreams?

Not always, but often.

Nice. It's very rare for me, even though I've tried to cultivate it over the years. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

The other night I dreamt my thighs were cut like sashimi, in little triangles of delicious rare meat all in layers.

Basically, I never remember my dreams. Total blackout.

So since I guess that's what happens when you are dead, I suppose I already do that.

Life is reality. Thats all you have is reality on earth. You can never be anything big in it unless you have the talent,Born with wealth or even have that ability to do it. You should have that choice what life you thought you should have been. Remember Tony Soprano was in a coma in an sopranos episode showing him what he should have been instead a mob boss. Tony Soprano should have been an insurance agent selling insurance. I was never good enough to have a woman in my life marry her and have 3 kids being a dad and a family man with a good job and an $300,000 family home in the suburbs. All my relationships ether failed or fell short. I'm in my 50s its too late becoming a dad or a family man. I can marry an old bat but her son or daughter will be in their 20s-30s. Yeah right try to ground an 20 year old to his or her room? Thats what i want to live in for eternity. Starting with my wedding day first.

Look, man, nobody's telling you what age range you may find attractive. Everybody has their own preferences. But please, for the love of all that's holy, don't start throwing around terms like that, OK? Not only is it rude and crude to call people names like that, but let's face it...you may find that there's someone out there whom you could love, and who could love you back, but you've just dismissed them out of hand - and you're missing out on a lifetime of romance and caring. You don't want to do that, do you?

Okay, I admit, I'm biased, because I find older women immensely attractive. If you don't agree, then nobody's forcing you. But at least try to show some respect, OK?

Hypothetically, you would exist in your dream until the end of your own time so it would sort of be eternity.

It would suck if it's a nightmare though.

If there's any sort of eternal life, I hope it's one continuous battle of fighting orc-Nazis. Fighting them in the trenches, on the high seas, in outer-space dogfights. Just battling the orc-Nazis, forever.
