If you could step into the Star Trek universe, what's the first thing you would do?

Could one return from the Trek future?

If a roundtrip would be possible and there are some, I would try to find cures for all the diseases we have...
Basically bring future medical knowledge to our time.

1. Find a sickbay/medical centre and see to it that every ailment I suffer from - both major and minor - is remedied. Perfect physical health here I come!

2. Spend a lot of time researching the history of the past 400 years. I'm a big history buff, so this'll be great fun.

3. Off to the Holodeck to live out my dreams and fantasies.

You don't NEED a holodeck if you're in the world of Star Trek!! Get out there and see the universe, which will easily outstrip all your fantasies!!!

I would like to add to my previous post which was about medical knowledge from the future.

Eyes, those artificial eyes Geordi had in TNG movies or maybe the Visor, blindness is a horrific fate, hard to think of a fate more cruel... No more blindness!

Remember that Joseph Sisko, a man living on 24th century Earth, suffered from occasional bouts of angina.

I've never had the impression that their medical science knew the solution for everything.

Hijack a ship and start roaming the universe in search for Kes.

My second option is a posting on Picard's Enterprise.

The third option would be to seek out Q. He would be a great fellow traveler.

I'd repaint all the turboshaft level signs suggesting the Enterprise-A had more than 21-25 decks (numbered from low to high as one moved upwards in the ship no less) in "STV:TFF". Believe it or not, it is the most bothersome part of the whole film to me. In fact, if the film is ever remastered, I hope this will be corrected at the same time they add the rock monsters Shatner originally wanted.

To be honest, the first thing I'd do is catch up on earth's history, I'd be incredibly curious as to what happened to my country and my descendants.
Then, depending on how depressing the history I read up on was, I'd probably continue doing what I do now: ancient history and archaeology; and see if the Enterprise needs a new archaeologist/ancient historian (Starfleet crews seem to come across cultures based on, or parallel to, Ancient Greece and/or Rome on a regularly high basis) :techman:

I would love be an earth historian or teacher on a starship, whenever meeting alien of the week we could chat about our histories and cultures over tea.
