If you could see a crossover with one other SciFi universe, which one?

Re: If you could see a crossover with one other SciFi universe, which

In place of? Nah, I wanna see the Scarrans fight the Dominion! Also think of the awesome potential character meetings - Garak and Scorpius, Worf and D'Argo, Crichton and Sisko, Quark and Rygel...one of these days I should just give in and write a crossover fic.

Re: If you could see a crossover with one other SciFi universe, which

^ Those are fantastic! I especially like the B&W Pike ones.

Re: If you could see a crossover with one other SciFi universe, which

cross over franchise? marvel or dc

Re: If you could see a crossover with one other SciFi universe, which

Herman as security guard is definitely the best!

Re: If you could see a crossover with one other SciFi universe, which

I'd quite like to see a Predator tie-in myself.

If we went by comic 'canon', they're a race called the Yautija & could quite easily be a Gamma or Delta Quadrant species. Be really interesting to see a bunch of Klingons face a pack of Predators actually.

Re: If you could see a crossover with one other SciFi universe, which

Except the Nausicaans already look like the Predators and the Hirogen act like them, so it'd be kind of redundant.

Re: If you could see a crossover with one other SciFi universe, which

Yeah I did think of the Hirogen actually. I suppose Trek has already knicked & morphed the idea really.

Plus it could also mean it ties to the Alien-verse too, and I don't know how that would fit with Trek really.

Re: If you could see a crossover with one other SciFi universe, which

It would have been interesting to see a crossover with nuBSG! I wonder what Data would have thought of the Cylons. I also wonder what the Borg and the Cylons would think about each other.

Re: If you could see a crossover with one other SciFi universe, which

Distant past as in 150,000 years ago, IIRC. There's no way any high technology could survive a fraction of that length of time.

Besides, Knight Rider was a lowbrow, cheesy show, so it seems preferable to pair it with something on a comparable level of cheese.

True, but it would have been a hoot if it at least could be given the crumbs of recognition by, let's say, Tom Paris slavering all over it after its being found floating in space, rather than that humble Ford jalopie he got to play with instead!!

Re: If you could see a crossover with one other SciFi universe, which

I've always thought a TOS-era crossover with Babylon 5 would be interesting. Obviously their universes are completely different, but they actually both take place around the same time, so you'd just need some plot device to transport one group of characters to another universe in the multiverse, and there you go!

Actually, now that I think of it, the dates for the reboot movies line up perfectly during the B5 series. Hmm...

(And I'm talking about a little more of a "serious" take on the concept than Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning, of course! ;))

Re: If you could see a crossover with one other SciFi universe, which

I still wish it were possible to find more crossovers that could work without alternate universes or glossing over incompatible physics/history/astrocartography/etc. I imagine there are some contemporary-setting SF shows about secret aliens or high-tech heroes or the like that could theoretically be compatible -- it's conceivable The Invaders could work, though I haven't seen enough to be sure -- but the problem with many of the later shows of that type is that they're likely to have references to Star Trek as a work of fiction.

I wonder about a DS9/Babylon 5 crossover myself. Seeing Sheridan and Sisko compare notes....

Another crossover I would be curious about is LEXX and TOS. (Note: The LEXX with Eva Habermann, not that other one).

But that looked lovely on screen, what with the ships. If it has spacecraft, I'm there.

Re: If you could see a crossover with one other SciFi universe, which

I can think of several that I would like but here are some that I think would be more interesting:

Star Trek and Farscape: Dealing with the Scarrans or the Peacekeepers would prove a challenge for any Starfleet crew.

Battlestar Galactica: Cylons team up with the Borg, anyone? Also, a completely different type of combat between Battlestars, Basestars and Starfleet.

Finally, the one that we really are all waiting for (no, I didn't go back in to the thread to see if it was already posted, so sorry for the repeat):

Firefly!

Re: If you could see a crossover with one other SciFi universe, which

I don't much like crossovers, but I'd make an exception for Data Meets Daneel.

Re: If you could see a crossover with one other SciFi universe, which

Which would it be, and how would the story go?

Can be any show or film, set in space.

Can be any version of Star Trek (canon).

The TNG episode "Parallels" is all we need to show other universes. In Doctor Who it was established that the TARDIS can travel to other ones. Apparently it was something done more commonly with the Time Lords were still around. But I think that would be one of the easiest crossovers.

With Star Wars though, it might be even easier. Since this was another Galaxy, you don't even need another universe. You could just say all this was happening far, far away. Maybe a ship from that Galaxy reaches ours.

Re: If you could see a crossover with one other SciFi universe, which

One of the things I liked about Trek is how open ended it is. So much other science fiction gradually lost me because I knew they wouldn't overthrow the dystopian galactic government or find their way home this episode, so I might as well see what else was on. To me, this gives Trek great flexibility and I was always able to shoehorn another series into the Star Trek universe without a lot of trouble.

If there were one I'd like to see a crossover with, it would be Star Wars, but the more I think about it, the more I realize I just want to see the look and feel of the Star Wars universe in the Star Trek one, combined with the rather generic story: The Liberator/Lexx/Moya/Galactica with a motley crew of criminals/rebels/renegades/refugees/idiots who happen to have the secret key/plans/weapon/heir to the throne enter Federation space hotly pursued by the Emperor's sinister minions.
