If you could change one thing in history....

No linear borders for Africa. They would have more of a voice about which ehnicity wants to live in the same country with which.

If i could go back to that day when the Romans captured Jesus for an arrest i use my dart gun put him to sleep and take him England for protection. He would never got crucified on the cross.

While you were back there, you could also determine whether he existed or not. Good luck pinning down your arrival time based on all the different dates listed for his birth.

And you know, not being killed for standing out and acting so vastly differently from everyone in that time period. Unless you want to sedate or "silence" everyone who notices which would be...everyone.

Etc

Also, Jesus not dying would invalidate a lot of Xian doctrine. And the Brits would soon fall unde Roman rule. And the Brits had a fine line in druids who, in extreme cases, were not averse to human sacrifice. It ain't so simple. As someone else said way upthread, read the short story 'Wikihistory', available online and very funny.

No, no, stop that. We shouldn't be arguing amongst ourselves like this. We should unite against the TRUE enemy.

THE JUDEAN PEOPLE'S FRONT!

Yep, this is a conversation you don't want to have. While I would like to, uh, discuss it further, these, uh, discussions ALWAYS end in tears.

New topic. The one I always think of is Gavrilo Princip assassinating Franz Ferdinand. With two bullets he changed the whoie world and caused probably a billion deaths. And he was probably a fall guy for shadier characters. Thing is, if he'd been stopped, it may have happened anyway, there wee some very determined people bent on freeing Serbia. And THAT is an ugly topic in its own right so I'll stop there.

The corollary to Princip is WW1, and then advances in science and technology. Everything is shaped by everything else. That's oine thing all too apparent in this thread.

The Energy Crisis of the Seventies could've paved the way to clean, renewable energies that might've even done a lot to help prevent Global Warming, possibly (but I don't know enough about that). The future would at least be looking alot brighter on that front, maybe. Even when they invented the car, they knew that oil reserves were finite. Surely, they had to be. Instead, the Oil Companies were wealthy and powerful, so they invested in finding other reserves. Even now, we're not doing anywhere near enough. Instead, it's still being debated if the problem even exists in reality, or not (!!!). I don't know ... but what's going to happen with the shifting of weather patterns and entire populations and migrations and whatnot ... it almost sounds post-apocolyptic.

I thought the general consensus amongest scientist i.e. circa 99% believe humans have had an impact on climate and that even in the wider population it is generally accepted that humans have had an impact on the climate. Though this can vary from country to country and region to region. Added to the fact that when it was referred to as global warming it led people to believe it would get warmer. Climate change is a better term because it allows for all variances in the climate hot, old, drier, wetter etc... Add in the fact that the worst affects might not be felt in some of our lifetimes and it can lead to a case of won't affect me so why should I care. Rather than thinking of the potential impacts it might have on our children and our childrens children.

Well if you're determined to go back in time and change stuff, make sure you have this with you.

Good luck!
