If Tom Paris did not end up with B’Elanna, with whom he would end up with (or no one)?

Caretaker, along with certain scenes in Season 1, definitely made inrodes to establishing a foundation of sorts for their relationship. At minimum, an episode like The Chute or Blood Fever (or even potentially combining the two into one episode) would have been interesting.
I think that they were playing with the idea of B'Elanna/Harry and B'Elanna/Chakotay early on. But then, Chakotay and Janeway showed such amazing chemistry, while they were planning on doing away with Harry.

I'm thinking Captain Proton had a love interest, and she uses the Doctor's holographic emitter when he's in sickbay. This is undoubtedly who Tom Paris spent his time with before hooking up with B'elanna. Why not? Didn't Tuvok have a holographic girlfriend when he went through the pon farr?

Tom actually created a holographic duplicate of his wife. In the latter's own words...

"Look, you have photographs of your wife, right? The computer can use them to create a replica. You wouldn't be breaking your vows if it's a hologram of your wife."

Of B'elanna? That sounds - dangerous.

No, Tuvok's wife, T'Pel. When Tom suggested the holodeck as a way of counteracting Tuvok's pon farr, Tuvok insisted that he was a married man. As a compromise, Tom offered to recreate T'Pel for him. This solution proved successful.

If Tom had gone with a B'Elanna hologram, not sure which of them (Tom or Tuvok) would have been in more danger when B'Elanna found out... 😨

Ah, that makes sense. It would also lend credence to the idea that Tom had a holographic girlfriend himself, if he was the one who came up with the idea.

Didn't Janeway have a Wuthering Heights holodeck program?

Yeah, she had her holodeck boyfriends. There's a reason why Leonardo Da Vinci kept her around.

Not so strange to think Top Paris had a holo-girlfriend considering what Janeway was up to.
