If superman is near a red sun

Is Superman as ridiculous in the comic books as he was in those movies?

Of course not. Maybe in the '50s, when comics were at their goofiest, he could approach that level of silliness, but never at that level of creative ineptitude. And for decades, comic books have been far closer to the level of The Dark Knight and the Spider-Man movies than to something like Superman IV or Batman Forever.

I have yet to see the Dark Knight; I caught Spider-Man on cable and thought it was okay enough. The only comic book movie I've really enjoyed was Blade, and from what a few of my friends have told me, it wasn't that close to the source material. Anyway, thanks for the response. -Dan

^^The point is, for decades now, comic books have been far more intelligent and sophisticated than most of the movies based on them. It's only in recent years that comics-based movies are catching up.

You keep talking like that, and you're going to get me to start a recommending reading thread, and then I'll be sucked in. -Dan
