I was curious about if he was holding someones hand, whether they'd leap through time with him or he'd wind up on the otherside holding a bloody stump severed at the elbow?

I guess I was unhappy with how the plot was developing. They focused on his relationship with his wife instead of the people he was helping. Frankly I didn't find his relationship that interesting and was hoping there were reasons these people were getting helped.
Another problem I had with the show was the possibility all this activity was being directed by some organization with unknown motives. By the end they were indicating it was something done by nature, or the cosmos, or something like that. Again a possibility to add more depth or intrigue to the show was gone.
