If C/7, might she join his Tribe and take his name?

I seem to recall we saw Chakotay's name on a tombstone, or a document or something. Neither his first nor last name was Chakotay, that's apparently a title or a nickname, I believe

This whole idea is about seeing 7 in fig leaves, or some South American equivalent.

That's what it is about.

Not that it wouldn't be fetching, because it WOULD.

Because it's very entertaining to think about those primitive Indians clad in leaves & with bones through their noses.

Here's a shocker for you all... I am an American Indian.

I wear clothes.

Really.

I'm pretty sure exodus does, too... :p

ETA: I really wish Jeri Taylor hadn't bothered with "honoring" us. Between the "genetic gift" we needed, the forehead cartilage on the lost tribe, & the nonsensical crap that she calls a Native American religion... it just gives me migraines.

Well if it makes you feel any better, you should see the Godben's posts on Fair Haven, etc.

Heh.

My late SO was Irish. I was afraid for my TV's life when Fair Haven was on.

I made sure he didn't get a chance to glimpse Spirit Folk...

And although it wasn't filled with the syrupy gobbledygook that passed for 'Irish' and 'Native American' culture, I can claim that my nation were the first to be spectacularly misrepresented on ST, albeit only vocally. I'm Scottish, you see.

...to be quickly followed by the Russians...

Yeah, Trek's never been too good at this. :p

They steamrolled my home and turned it into a huge prison.

Considering what passes for Irish cliches, it's sort of novel using Fairhaven as a Brothel.

But you have to remember that after WWIII, there was one or two generations where no one had a cultural identity. A distinct break in the chain. Later, once civilization returned, human beings had to racial profile themselves from what they found in libraries to figure out who bigots and racists thought they were.

It's no wonder Chakotays hokum sems so made up becuase some fraction of it probably was.

You mean as a "wedding garment" to typify her mates culture respectfully?

Google tells me Keyna, or Burma.

But the whole wearing fig leaves persay was medieval censorship of junk in public/private paintings.

it was very simple.

The artist magically hangs leaves off his/her subjects fuzzies bits, pointing bits and dangly bits or the local authorities would burn them and their patron as witches.

I think we learnt form Q2 that Seven isn't shamed about public nudity.

So?

Are those body socks Seven wears and clothes in general just censorship forced on her by Janeway and the human condition?

The Borg are naked.

All that technology is grafted onto their body, it is their body.

Do the Borg have a nudity shame taboo, or have we just statistically never come across some Drone who lets it all hang out?

You're well past "fool me twice" on that one.

"Sigh"

She had the ship to herself for a month in One, am I really supposed to believe that she would defy the natural human condition to wander about starkers for 30 days and 30 nights?

Maybe nude welding is a stupid idea, but other than that, crank up the heat and she'd be fine.

That rug mummy Will Riker has a pernicious matted web of bristle that you'd assume might really secretly be a velcro WMD, which is about a third as alpine as what Kyle Riker brings to the party...

Do bibs and napkins defy the nudity requirement for Betazoidian wedding attire or is there a babrbers tent out the front before they're let in because getting the cheese off after the fact sporta voids the effort of dodging a full waxing beforehand.

That would be dangerous.

I'm not saying women are more enlightened in the future.

Less vain.

Alien women even.

But stereotypically all that diet, exercise and pills they abuse to fit into some perfect tiny dress they spent three months wages on to look ah-mazing is entry level compared public nudity because there's no mold for the jello.

You can love Jello till the cows come home, but no bugger wants to admit that that's what they're selling.

Gift with purchase.

Terrorists in the Afganistan, freedom fighters, whatever... Get hold of a Nuclear Submarine.

What's these dirt farmers who might as well be from the 16th century's next move?

The Maquis are supposed to be farmers mostly too.

How many Maquis do you think actually know how to work on a starship god forbid captain one?

Or... It might have been his ship before he joined the Maquis?
