Ideas on what happened to planet from North Star?

WesleysDisciple

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
any ideas what happened after Xindi incident was settled.

it shows that the sherriff was able to change the law, or de emphasize it, I wonder what reaction would be on earth to meeting the members of earths REAL oldest colony.

unless we count 2 or 3 "preservers" planets

I'm betting there would be heritage societies out to keep the North Star folk from advancing out of their hoop skirts and horses phase. Because they would be so thrilled to have a slice of the old west, sorta, to study.

I dunno, I bet the women there would love to move on from corsets to Spanx (or their 22nd century equivalent).

Archer's report on the planet will be lost.

Just like his report on the Romulan cloaking devise, details on the personnel who were Borg'ified, and security camera images of those Ferengi who boarded his ship.

Pretty common today (and in the "old west") for sheriff's to have this ability.

I could see it two ways. One is designating the Human community some kind of a historical preserve. The other would be, Humanity does have a functional community on a inhabitable planet , that isn't too far from Earth. So the planet could become a major colony world.

Which would be a terrible shame.

Sheriff MacReady smiles and thanks Archer for teaching them the error of their ways and waves goodbye. As soon as the shuttle leaves he proceeds to go hang the teacher and slaughter all of the Skagarans while him and Bennings run the town.

Re: Ideas on what happened to planet from Norht star?

As Spock was fond of saying, records from that period of history are fragmentary.

Re: Ideas on what happened to planet from Norht star?

I can see a lot of competing interests, Im pretty sure they skagarrans would probaly want to leave as soon as they had the opportunity.

Good thing the prime directive didnt exist yet, or else Archer might have ruled it DID apply to the people there... Seen it in novels, at least, where the prime directive was read as applying to people from "Crashed transports" or "PReserver engendered" societys, because they'd remained, or reverted to, a primitve lifestyle.

Always found it pretty weird that the Old West society DIDN'T evolve i the 250+ years they'd been stuck there. The people abducted in "The 37s" certainly had nothing resembling the 1930s about them.

Re: Ideas on what happened to planet from Norht star?

^ The 37's took the technology they stole from the Briori and used it. The people in this episode wanted nothing to do with Skagaran technology. That's why.

Re: Ideas on what happened to planet from Norht star?

^ There was also a half century different between when the two groups were abducted. The 37's were from a early technological society, and were better prepared to assimilate their captors machines.

:)

Re: Ideas on what happened to planet from Norht star?

Actually I've often wondered if the Briori and Skagarans were the same race. The different names could be chalked up to differences in language or dialect. We never saw a Briori in "The 37's", after all...

This makes a lot of sense. It seems odd that two different alien races, apparently within 80 years of each other, came to Earth with the intent of getting slave labor. If that were the case, it seems the Orions or the Klingons should have been in the practice too. But most alien races say "Earth? Never heard of it."

Re: Ideas on what happened to planet from Norht star?

^ The planets that they took their respective victims too were pretty far apart.

:)

Re: Ideas on what happened to planet from Norht star?

^ I meant within an 80 year span of time, not that they were within 80 lightyears of each other. North Star's ancestors were captured 80 years before the 37's.

The Briori, the Skagarans, the Preservers... Their victims probably have many names for them.

The motivation for the crime could have been the same in all the cases: establishing of a mine run by cheap slave labor. The gang would have to move from mining planet to mining planet as the most easily extracted riches ran out or the interstellar law began catching up, but they could always return to their one surefire source of primitive slaves. Until that source reached its own space age, that is.
