Fortunately, I start work almost immediately after the finale ends, so I'll actually miss the show as I'll be sleeping and getting ready and eating breakfast. Plus I have stuff to do tomorrow evening.

The odds are not very good. Every single entertainment and news source on the planet will be talking about the series finale!
Depends on where you are. Naturally all of the American ones will be talking about LOST now. I plan on avoiding certain things online for the next two days.
Depends on what websites you go to and on how it all ends. For example after Harry Potter ended people were generally satisfied and the ending was complicated enough that you couldn't just spoil it in one simple sentence, so it was actually fairly easy for my boyfriend (who hasn't finished reading the books) to avoid spoilers. If Lost's finale is satisfying then there is likely to be less debate about it and you are therefore less likely to be spoiled.
I still don't know how Harry Potter ends! I'm waiting for the movies to tell me.

Let's hope it means something other than what what I guess it means (i.e. pretty much what every viewer thinks right from the start) - especially since Lindelof & Co have said all along this is *not* the case (lying of RTD proportions?), and it would mean there was no real reason to put the numbers in the computer, and how would the Dharma Initiative be able to get stuff there, and doubtless lots of other things that I haven't thought of because they haven't been introduced in season 2...

I'm sticking to this thread too! I've downlaoded series 3,4,5 and soon six off itunes... I watched the first two several years ago but 'lost' 
interest waiting for the 3rd series to start. I'm going to watch 2-3 episodes per night till I get to the final, I'm half way through series 3 now! I think it's better watching episodes daily instead of weekly anyway, helps keep it fresher in the head!

I wouldn't worry about that spoiler too much. There are so many different aspects to the show that even if you do get spoiled on one thing there are sure to be tons of other things that still surprise you. I haven't seen Ashes to Ashes so I don't know what it's finale is about, but I wouldn't feel like the whole show has been ruined for you. There isn't one definitive ending that ties everything up, and it is what you make of it. Keep watching!

And yeah I havnt seen Ashes to Ashes but from the sound of it it's really not that similar at all.
