I wish voyager had gotten home in the season 5 finale

The Doctor could have a storyline about whether he was sentient or not and whether he would be allowed to keep the mobile emitter.

I would have loved to have seen a 2 or 3 episode storyline about Janeway on trial for some of the actions she took in the Delta quadrant.

Fallout from the Dominion War and the deaths of the Maquis could be donw through BLT and Chuckles.

Those are just a few ideas. More action would be needed, but those are all things that I would have liked to see. "

This does not make any sense to me. This plotline for Season 7 would have gone against the series' premise. Season 7 about the Federation's reactions to Seven-of-Nine. Now, I know you must be joking.

They would have managed to fix the Quantum Slipstream and make it all the way back to Earth? Could just be making that up but I'm sure I read it somewhere...

How does this go against the premise of the series? There were a few actual Voyager episodes that were devoted to this exact topic.

It was tossed out of the airlock in the First Season. Personally by the Sixth Season I was quite tired of the Delta Quadrant.
I think that having the ship return home during the season opening two-parter would have been a nice idea. We would have had the closure most people wanted from "Endgame" and after some ordeals the crew would be together and exploring again.
While dealing with the Alpha/Beta quadrant issues that I personally cared more about. Specially if Ron Moore had stayed.
The Season Six finalle would also had been a good place, the Pathfinder project could even tie to it.
The series finale could have been them returning to the Delta Quadrant and perhaps getting lost again..=P

Or not.

I just wanted a decent finale with closure. They could have achieved this with a simple two or three parter.

I don't think so. Its true they never lost hope to get back to earth, but a big part of the premise of the show is how the journey is more important than the destination. The possibility of Voyager becoming a generational ship heading back to earth have been discussed several time on the show. Its been considered a serious possibility since the birth of the little Wildman. Slowly but surely all members of the crew(except Tuvok maybe) had begun to settle down on the ship. Making a life for themselves there.

The only reason we were tired of the DQ by this point was because the writers had done nothing to make the DQ an interesting place. There were literally no interesting or threatening enemies (The Borg had been completely castrated by this point) or any interesting cultures. The fault was all in the writing, what's to say they would have made the AQ/BQ adventures of the ship anymore interesting?

No, I'm not joking. Season 7 seemed to feature less Seven-of-Nine and more B'Elanna Torres, especially after the latter married Tom Paris.
