i wish abrams had made a post ds9/voy movie isntead!

Absolutely Right™

You ask the typical person on the street about Star Trek, they think Kirk and Spock. They think "beam me up, Scotty." That's just how it is. It was a smart move to take this franchise back to the beginning.

The last person I asked started to shout "Khan!". So they probably should really be remaking Space Seed and/or TWOK.

And they may well do that. It's certainly not hard to imagine the studio people pushing them in that direction.

And you'll like them rehashing old ideas because the studio likes it?

Sounds like you just want to reach an outrageous conclusion just to be argumentative, should I conclude that you are only here to irritate people who happen to like this film?

And what are you doing right now? Trying to get in yet another debate with me about my personal intentions?

I don't think I'm irritating people who like this movie in a thread that obviously questions the movie that was made. If people who liked the movie read this thread, it's not my fault.

Why is it that you always come in when nobody else cares? Dennis has responded to my question and it's fine. Should be over actually. But now you come in. Things would NEVER be big issues, but you insist on making them big. I know what happens next: a useless discussion between you and me, until M'Sharak closes the thread. Is that what you want?

Your personal intentions are obvious.

To everyone.

Well, it's official: This topic has now degenerated into nothing more than a stupid little pissing match between a few members. Let's see if we can conclude it. OK?

The OP (who has actually not even responded once to his own post, making me think that he probably didn't even care a whole lot about what he was asking), stated that he wished Abrams made a post-TNG movie instead of a TOS movie, and several people chimed in stating that this would have probably been a bad idea.

End of discussion.

(P.S. No, I don't really believe this will be the end of the discussion. I totally feel more pissing coming on).

QFT :)

Knock it off, 6.

Jarod is not the topic of this thread, and you know it. Stick to what is the topic and stop getting personal.

Jarod, this also can stop. There was nothing Dennis said which suggested that he was in favor of a remake nor anything which invited that kind of question. It was merely a statement acknowledging that the possibility of a remake existed.

Again, stick to the topic and don't challenge someone about whether they'll like something when they've given you no reason for doing so.

Sorry, that wasn't my intention. I merely wanted to know how he'd feel about that.

It was also a fair question in this case, IMAO - Jarod knows my opinion of Abrams's movie and these things in general, I suspect - and I answered it in that spirit.
