"I think I’m steering away from ‘Star Trek’, but I haven’t had an official conversation with those guys yet. In a strange way, it seems like this movie, Hollywood, would be my last. So, I’ve kind of taken the pressure off myself to make that last big voilà kind of statement."

Aggressive negotiations.......lol. I'd be more than happy with just a regular Kelvinverse film.

That is disappointing. Having a movie by a successful, big-name producer might turn it into a cult classic among “weird films” fans.

Since it's not supposed to be in continuity with anything else, I think it's one of those things that can always be revisited if Tarantino gets bored down the line.

Funny how he's said this shortly after the Legion guys ST4 was announced..

oh well maybe i'll head to that spoiler thread of the supposed Tarantino plot leak and finish reading it now

In a way, I think I might have been expecting the Tarantino Trek movie might go the way of Erik Jendresen's Star Trek: The Beginning, one of the last Trek projects Rick Berman was associated with before CBS and Viacom split. It seems like whenever there's a major regime change at a studio, projects that weren't firmly locked down previously tend to be drastically altered by the new regime or quietly sent to development hell forever, IMO.

maybe IDW will approach QT (think he recently oversaw a Django sequel comic series).. another crossover comic would fit right in with the stuff they are doing recently (that big Q crossover)

I doubt he was thrilled they've just announced a new Trek movie with another director. Very slight vibes of Jared Leto and Joaquin Phoenix's Jokers, who were supposed to be concurrent until plans changed.

I was interested, but never thought it likely that it would ever be made.

Can't say I'm surprised, or even that bothered if there's going to be a regular kelvin movie in the works anyway.

I never thought a QT trek film was ever getting made to be honest.

i just can’t say i ever thought this was a good idea, so i’m relieved it’s dead. but it would’ve been interesting...

I am super disapointed about this. Anytime a legendary director and writer slips through you fingers how can it not be letdown. Of course they can find other people to make good movies but their is only one Tarantino. He brings value over all the canon issues combined. Jason
