I think Doctor Crusher might be a creep.

And there's another creep in this situation-Troy. When Odan(now as the Rikernator) is trying to get some from Crusher, she's pretty repulsed. That's when Troy steps in and is like "go to him...he needs you...GO TO HIM...ITS OKAY...DO IT...DO IT NOW...NOW, BEVERLY, Damn it!(I'm paraphrasing, of course)
Troi knows Riker is a whore. She enables his behavior, which is how they were able to have a relationship. ;)

And while we're on the subject of unethical counselors, was it really appropriate for Ezri Dax to... fraternize with Worf? Not only as a counselor, but as the carrier or the Dax symbiote AND all that Trill taboo about past lovers?

I meant it as a joke as I typed it out, but then I realized, wait no...that IS bad!

Women can commit sexual harrasment as well. Personally I think it's great that these ideas are being discussed in a public forum.

It is wonderful...! Very engaging and poignant discussion all around. Bravo to everyone for their thoughtful and learned participation!

I hate to say it, but Beverly is a creep.

She gets into it with a patient named Odan, and after he transfers into the body of Will Riker, a man she only ever considered a friend, she waffles at first but ultimately ends up sleeping with him. She uses Riker's body for her own purposes, even knowing that he has no say over his actions while Odan is in control. And then when Odan transferred into another new body, one that she didn't want to sleep with, she ended it.

She starts reading her Nana's diary on the very day she went into the ground, and creepily gets all hot and bothered reading about her grandmother's lover. She tells Deanna that she hopes to also find a thirty year old lover when she's 100, like her Nana did. Worse yet, when she meets Nana's lover in the flesh, she starts up a sexual relationship with him immediately.

And there is of course, the "is she interested or not" thing with Picard. She can't make up her mind whether or not to sleep with, of all people...her dead husband's best friend. Gross.
But did you forget the other patient?
The guy that they found on the planet who was running from his people.
Then he turned sort of into a lightbulb type thing which put the kybosh on sex, but she was very very very creepy with a patient that was confused, injured and couldn't remember anything about himself.
She is a creep for sure and uses sex as a tool.
She strung along the Captain for years.
Whenever he dated anyone, there she was in the background clucking and shaking her head like a grandma chicken.
She was extremely jealous when he was with that lady that played the piano.
She was a psycho creep.

No, I'm saying that he's outright told everyone that he's always down to clown, any time, anywhere. So she already had consent. (To be clear for the pedants, I'm not citing canon. I'm speculating, and also, I kind of hate Riker because of what he put Miles through fooling around with Keiko. ;) )
WTH???!!
He never fooled around with Keiko!!!!!

Ah, gotcha! Riker said that he's always up for sex no matter what.

...So Crusher then had sex with his body while he was unconscious. Totally cool. ;)
I think, Beverly, being an educated woman would prefer sec with a conscious man!
If I was going to knock boots with Riker I would definitely want him conscious.

Plus Odan was creepy. Not sexually creepy, just creepy.

Yes, people are throwing that word around too much.

The thing with the Trill (Odan?), if Riker let him use his body as a vessel, that means Odan has every right to use it. It's in the contract, the symbiote becomes the primary and the host is just life support.
Unless the fine print excludes the symbiote from sex or enslaving indigenous populations, Odan is well within his rights and why should Crusher feel bad using Rikers body?

In one of the books or short stories, they had the former Borg woman from Survival Instincts wearing a seven like catsuit BUT she wore regular clothes over it. Wish I could remember which story.
That's Star Trek: Voyager: Distant Shores: "Brief Candle".

In Star Trek: Myriad Universes: Infinity's Prism: "Places of Exile", an alternate Annika Hansen who was liberated from the Borg with her Unimatrix Zero personality intact does wear clothes over the regenerative skin-hugging garment.

Both stories are by Christopher L. Bennet.

Thanks. Brief Candle was the one I remember.

It's all relative. Compared to other Star Trek characters, probably not a complete creep, but she's definitely got a lot of pent up lady issues. She is constantly all up in everybody else's love life bizness, & often has some of the oddest quirks. Like WTF was up with that betting all the guys to shave their beards off thing? Where the hell does that even come from? She seemed legitimately frustrated after that poker game got busted up... like her multi-phasic vibrator was going to have to work overtime that night. lol

Doctor Crusher always came across as a bit of bluffer for me.

Whilst the writers went to town getting our heroes to rattle off reams of technobabble of all sorts, the medical jargon left alot to be desired.

Almost everything seemed to be reduced to a small range of recurring jargon like the "hippocampus". There was always some problem with the hippocampus. I remember watchin' TNG as a youngster and I could always impress people with my knowledge of the hippocampus. Headache? "Mmmm., looks like the hippocampus could be the culprit there" I'd say with a suitably stern expression on my face.

"Neural shock" -- That was another one. Anyone that flakes out, it's "neural shock". Someone would collapse and Crusher, after a momentarily look of confusion, would wave her doo-lally about and say "..oh..look, he's going into neural shock".:scream:

I mean did anyone in Starfleet ever even verify Crusher's credentials? I know she got to be head of "Starfleet Medical" but is she even a doctor?!!! :shifty:
