I prefered Nemesis

Say what you want about it atleast it was a Star Trek movie, it had the feel to it that XI is missing.

What feel would that be?

Cant describe it, the other films and tv shows just have a "feel" that this one doesnt, sorry I cant be more descriptive.

And Nemesis was a Star TREK movie not a Star WARS movie.

I don't think this was meant to be a typical Star Trek movie. I know what you mean though, I kind of miss the elements of the old Star Trek stuff, but it's nice to see a Star Trek film get as much popularity as this and that it's drawing a lot of attention, and finally a Star Trek movie that had a lot of action. Kirk's era was a lot different then Picard's era. It was more like today's time in a way.

nemesis was tng's version of star trek 5.

Every fifth Trek movie kills a kitten!

For real. I always explained Final Frontier by saying "well you know how Trek can be, it was an odd numbered movie" (never mind that I loved Search for Spock). So how do I explain that the two worst movies are FF and Nemesis? It's all about being divisible by five. Look at the evidence! ;)

what she said! :techman:

I liked it more then most, but no, it is nowhere near as good as ST.

Should we expect a user with the name Shinzon to think any differently though?

So Shinzon thinks Nemesis was better than STXI. Where is Nero? What's his preference?

Say what you want about it at least it was a Star Trek movie, it had the feel to it that XI is missing.

a. Your username is "Shinzon," and you're saying Nemesis was better than Star Trek XI. You're not in any way biased, are you?

b. You give no reasoning or specific examples as to why you feel this way, other than it's just your "feeling." So there's no point in arguing with you, other than to say that that's just your opinion. So here's my opinion: Nemesis is a real contender with Star Trek V: The Final Frontier as the worst Star Trek movie ever made. Star Trek XI, on the other hand, is one of the most entertaining Trek movies ever made. And that's my "feeling."

It came on last night, a little after dinner time. I put it on, and then my wife asked me to go out and fix the garden hose valve.

Guess what I did with great enthusiasm!

(hey, we should come up with "Things I Did Instead of Watching Nemesis on AMC" thread!)

Shinzon: slobbers all over Picard when they sit and talk.

Nero: doesn't even sit and talk. He would impale you, or torture you if he liked you right after imploding a planet.

No contest.

Star Trek clearly felt like a Star Trek movie because it recaptured the feel of the original show. It just didn't feel like something produced by Rick Berman.

Agreed completely.

Just goes to show that no one person can say what Star Trek is.

Star Trek is a personal thing.

I watched most of Mummy 2 instead.

I kind of feel bad for AMC. They probably are wetting themselves to get onto the Trek bandwagon and do something to celebrate the resurgence of Trek.

And all they could get rights to was Nemesis.

Go check out DVD swap sites and used DVD bins, looking for Star Trek. You may find one or two copies of the better movies or episodes, but tons of Nemesis.

I won't bother watching Nemesis (or any other movie for that matter) on amc. Now if they showed it on some HD channel then I probably watch it. Heck I even watch TFF (my least favorite Trek movie by far) one more time if shown on an HD channel.

Nemesis lost me at the FIRST SCENE. They spent SEASONS of TNG building up a warm, credible romance between Worf and Troi, and out of nowhere she's marrying Riker? Dafuck? The movie just gets worse from there.

I can't believe I'm actually defending 'Nemesis' but it makes perfect. Troi/Worf was undone when Worf moved onto DS9 and MARRIED Jadzia Dax. Riker coming out of nowhere? In the previous movie, 'Insurrection', they were sharing a bath and essentially acting like a couple of horny teenagers. Their marriage was loooooooooooooong overdue, and is something the movie did right. IMHO.

Heh ok...I guess I completely forgot that other steaming pile of a movie.. :)

No problem. I actually found INS far worse than NEM. I think I've repressed most of my memories of that movie.
