Say what you want about it atleast it was a Star Trek movie, it had the feel to it that XI is missing.

Is there some sort of BBS rule about content-free, one-line troll posts? If not, why not?

I mean, if you want to start up a legitimate discussion about the comparative merits and demerits of the two films, you should open your thread with discussion.

I watched parts of it last night on AMC. It was as bad as I remember.

I did too...watched about 5 minutes total. I had forgotten how badly Spiner played B-4 as the "Special Data"...yeesh. Nemesis to me is "servicable" as a TNG film, but not something that I pull out and pop into the DVD player very often. Just a completely different feel altogether compared to the new film.

I've always liked Nemesis and thought the guy playing Shinzon did a fantastic job, best actor in the movie by far but i'm afraid Trek XI is better.

What feel would that be?

Cant describe it, the other films and tv shows just have a "feel" that this one doesnt, sorry I cant be more descriptive.

And Nemesis was a Star TREK movie not a Star WARS movie.

Ok, so you think all the other movies were better than Star Wars Trek?

The cheese? The painfully derivative storyline? The dodgy effects? The palpable desperation of the cast trying to slog through inane dialogue? That's what Nemesis had loads of.

Thank you, but no.

Nothing wrong with preferring movie A or movie B, but be careful with objective claims that one is Star Trek while the other is not. That is a purely subjective statement and really should be worded as such.

sorry you have to come up with more then that.
and the star wars stuff dosnt hold up considering at least star trek was written by a couple of trek fans.

nemesis was tng's version of star trek 5.

Personally I preferred The Way to Eden. Say what you want about it, at least it was Star Trek. It had the feel to it that XI is missing.

yeah....I definitely don't think Nemesis is as bad as alot of other people do but its not nearly as good as STXI was

The Final Frontier felt like Star Trek. Nemesis only felt like a bad cold that won't go away.

The new movie has several plot holes, opens continuity debates and overall felt a little more like Star Wars but I liked it nonetheless. It was entertaining, thrilling, dramatic...

It is different, but Star Trek needed to be different. We were loosing "members" (if we call ourselves that) by the dozen every day and surely not gaining any new ones.

I am looking forward to a new universe, all over again.

Nemesis could have been a great film with a better director and better editing. Unfortunately what we got was Stuart Baird, a man who understands what Star Trek is about even less than J.J does. Which is why the scenes that would have made Nemesis a worthy swansong for the Next Generation ended up on the cutting room floor, and we got buggy chases and bald jokes instead. At least J.J can do pointless chase scenes well, unlike Baird.

I didnt like the new film, but it was still a bit better than Nemesis, and twice as good as Insurrection. But then that's not saying much really.

I had a botched root canal that I resented less than the time lost to watching Nemesis in a movie theater. At most it was a Star Trek movie, and a pretty damned lame one.

Later, at a friend's urging, I watched it on DVD and didn't find it to be quite as bad. I enjoyed it some. That is not high praise.
