I Need this movie-now

I Have to admit, it's been an exceptionally bad week. I would just like to share, the sooner this movie comes out the better. As pathetic as it seems, it is one of the things which is keeping me sane.

I can't wait for this movie-maybe someone can get me into an advance screening-REALLY advanced! OK-pobably not, but if anyone could use it it would be me.

MRE

I have some Nigerian friends who can get you into a super advanced screening, if you help them with a little problem with some money they have.

Expect an email shortly.:shifty:

I can't wait either, but maybe this shouldn't be your therapy.

I'm going through a little Trek withdrawl myself. I certainly hope the film is great and leads to even greater things (ie spin-off series). If it sucks and spells the death of the franchise, I will be highly upset.

SPIN-OFF series? are you kidding me! if this movie is a hit I'M HOPEING for a more then just a spin-off. I want new FIVE year series with this crew and ENTERPRISE!

I can relate. Ever since the movie was announced, I've made a point of checking Trekmovie.com every few hours, hoping for an update. Pathetic, I know. I have a very rich life (family, friends, etc.), yet my nearly life-long obsession with Trek still holds me tightly in its grip...

Just three months.

Odds are there will be some preview screenings between now and then, though likely not public ones. As the next two months pass, though, we will begin hearing a great many more plot rumors as a result of the ever-increasing number of industry people who will see it in a variety of settings.

Get your fix now... read Trek Lit... =)
Some of the PF fiction is awesome! I like some of it on par with my favourite series episodes!

I guess I'm having trouble getting excited for the movie because I'm worried I'll be terribly disappointed- or worse, it'll be great, and still do poorly, and Trek on screen will go away... as they threaten. =(

something tells me if it's a hit, you'll probably get more movies, not a TV series.

I can relate. there are very few things on this earth that can match my Trek-addiction.

Well, as grim as life is right now for many of us, I can't say as I feel like this movie will be any sort of savior.

It will be a nice diversion and I'm looking forward to it....but it by no means will solve any of the problems facing many people right now.

yes, but a nice diversion would be nice every once in a while, no?

I heard that movie theatres are doing better business than almost anything else right now, except maybe Walmart and McDonalds.

^ Well, that's what happened in the early 1930's during the depression. I am a film collector and even though I haven't even tried necessarily to get films from certain years, the years that I have the most films from are 1935 (245), 1934 (238) and 1933 (237).

From what I understand, Hollywood felt like it was their job to take people away from their woes - at least for a while. They did the same thing during WWII.

Of course, back then it was only a dime to get into the movies though.

Although, in a nation where a first-run film will cost you ten bucks to get in and another ten (at least) if you want popcorn and a drink the business is probably not quite such a palliative to recession as it once was...

I know! soon it'll be 15 friggin bucks! btw, PKTrekGirl, I read your LJ reviews every once in a while... good stuff. I'm a hardcore TCM watcher as well ;)

I don't think that's what they meant in the slightest.

But whenever there's new Trek things just seem a bit brighter. :)

Considering actual attendence numbers(not just box office) are up around 22% YTD, I'd say it seems to be.

Yeah...haven't been writing any lately though. This past year I've been just covered up at work. So I haven't had much time to review many films.

Of course, that might change if they lay me off. Made 3 cuts already...but won't make many more.....

But even though I've not been reviewing films, fear not - I'm still ga-ga over Gary Cooper.
