I may never shop at a department store again!

Yes. Absolutely yes!

Me too. Like I said, if one knows one's shirt size, why would there be any reason to believe that a shirt bought online won't fit?
I have found that different companies have very different ideas of what sizes actually are. I have Mediums and XLs that are exactly the same size.
True enough.

Some online sellers are cognisant enough of this fact to post detailed actual measurements, which can help reduce the crapshoot element of online clothes buying somewhat. It's not perfect though, as even if key measurements are the same, actual fit can vary. Whether it's good enough depends on how accurate a fit you want, and what deviation you'll tolerate.

So true. And if you're a woman, you have to think about how it will fit the chest area, which may require you to go a size up or down even though the rest of it fits right.

Oddly enough us men can have issues with having to pick a different size. I've an assortment of S or M T-Shirts/Polo shirts. Shoe/Trainer size can vary from 8-10 depedning on style/width etc..

Yeah like I said I check measurements, not sizes. If a place only offers sizes, I'm probably not going to order from them.
