I Hope You Find Love!

I found love after a few stumbling blocks and this time next week, I'll be doing my Grooms speech!

I'm a firm believer in love at first sight.
So were my folks. Turns out they were also firm believers in years of bitterness and squabbling and divorce! :p

... I remain hopeful, however, that when I get my chance and face my challenges, I'll learn from their mistakes, and maintain calm.

I'm fortunate to have plenty of love from family and friends. What I don't have is romantic love. I've gotten quite accustomed to not being in a relationship for most of my adult life. I'm either too shy or too afraid, or I just don't care.

I hope you overcome your fear and your perfect love finds you! :bolian:

I appreciate the thought, but at this point in my life, I don't know if I even want to. It's not that I'm incapable of falling in love, expressing love, or being loved. I was in a relationship when I was younger, and even then I was a late bloomer and didn't date until I was in my late teens. But ever since, I've had a long dry spell, 20 years and counting. I'll chalk it up to my own anxieties and lack of self-confidence.

I would love to live in a mansion, but it doesn't mean it's going to happen. The bottom line is, I'm totally okay with it.

I can empathise with that, and over coming anxieties and having more self-confidence isn't easy. It can become a vicious cycle, you ask someone out and get rejected that self-confidence takes a kncok and so on, but all it takes is that one yes to restore some self-confidence. Unfortunantly not everyone understands how difficult it can be for those who have anxieties, low self-confidence, shy etc.. to actually ask someone out.
