I gotta love my great state of Ohio

Yep, that'd definitely be a case where I remind them that the car was on private property, and that they could go screw. If they want to enforce it for parking on public land or roads, all well and good, but if i feel like parking sideways in the middle of my lawn, it's my call...

Makes me wonder if all the city owned land i.e. fairgrounds is all paved and if they'd ticket you there too..

Reminds me of what happened in my hometown a while ago. Tickets were being given out to people who had left their car doors unlocked in their own driveway.

I'll have to ask my Dad but I think it had something to do with insurance rates.

Not legal. And I wish them good luck in trying to enforce this, as it's a massive lawsuit waiting to happen. In fact, I would guess there are lawyers just lining up for this right now, ready to work for the people who got the tickets. When something like this hits the international news, oh, you just know it's going to blow up in their faces.

As I recall, it was the police wanting to cut down on the amount of petty crimes they were having to deal with, and they thought one of the best ways was to reduce the number of people who's cars were being "broken" into.

Ohio sure seems anal about more than a few things. Plus with the budget situation there, I suspect that there's some real pressure to generate additional revenue somehow.

"A city law against parking on unpaved surfaces, including gravel driveways." :wtf:

The idiocy of politicians never ceases to amaze me....

That sounds about right. My Dad confirmed I wasn't dreaming the whole thing.

How are traffic wardens even allowed on your property.

Also why are they even in the neighbourhood? I don't know how is it in most places but here I only ever see Traffic Wardens patrolling streets in around the city and town centres, especially where there are parking restrictions and yellow lines. There doens't seem to be any reason for them to go anywhere near resisdential areas.
