I don't like this news about SNW season 3 from Screen Rant

Star Trek has never qualified as "hard sf;"
It's always been weird to me how a significant a number of fans treat trek as if it is hard SciFi
They've no idea what hard SF is.

Akiva Goldsman, the Strange New Worlds and Star Trek Picard co-creator, co-producer, and co-showrunner, says that Harlan Ellison's TOS episode "The City on the Edge of Forever" is "hard sci-fi":

Are you saying that Akiva Goldsman is wrong and has no idea what he is talking about?

When it comes to what is hard SF, yes. But he’s hardly alone in this.

I don't know why what Char is doing in the new-Trek threads/subforums isn't considered trolling by the mods/admins.

It's clear they're doing it just to well, troll. Baiting, riling people up, all they ever do is posted negative things.
It is often close and we do watch his bullshit but it doesn’t break the rules. This isn’t a “positive thoughts only” board.
