Regarding the legality of downloading / ripping the movie, my response is don't be such a wuss.
In the U.S. it's a felony, which is a huge fine and possible prison time if they catch you.
Because the movie industry, while obscenely influential in Washington, is eons behind the times, and so is IP law, which simply isn't applicable to modern methods of dissemination. As a result, people automatically associate bittorrents with piracy, when in fact the industry should embrace this technology.
Well, hell, they opposed VCRs, too.
