I mean, it really hasn't settled in yet! I have a fiance!
I was at a Halloween party with the gf last night (dressed like Kermit and Piggy), when the subject of us getting married came up... and I just knew that I wanted to marry her more than anything. So I asked her right then and there. No plan, no ring- just bam!
Since my divorce (I was in a terrible marriage for five years), I've been saying that I would probably never remarry. But the year that I've been going out with her has been the best time of my life. She's freaking amazing. I've genuinely never been as happy as I am with her.
And now she's going to be my wife!
Hell of a weekend, all around.
(PS- Will someone invent a freaking time machine so I can go back to the seventh grade and tell my super-geeky-awkward-trekkie-self that one day a woman like this will agree to marry him? And that she will like all of the same nerdy things that he likes! His head would explode.)
