I am a Nerd.

My single warning ever was after a squabble in a thread about nerds. I called out the mod, Lord Garth, on this and challenged him to a duel with pocket protectors. "Let's see whose is bigger!"
The scoundrel declined the duel and the warning was rescinded instead. Victory!

Okay, there were some other details I've left out. But those events did happen.

and names have been changed to protect the pocket protectors.

You don't need to protect a pocket protector. It does the protecting for you!

Maybe it should be "usernames have been changed to protect those involved." Listen, if someone takes a shot at Lord Garth, I wasn't here, okay?

Beverly is just in the warp bubble.

She'll be back later in the episode.

I would love to be able to buy my computer parts in a local store. It would make returns so much easier. But the prices online are so much better.

^I am a nerd, too, because if I had that, I would giggle and do a geeky happy-dance while clapping like an idiot.

This. Completely and utterly this. I was in my late teens when TNG came out, and back then I never had the inkling to buy any of the action figures and sets, much to my current regret. The only thing I've treated myself to so far is a K'Ehleyr figure, but I'd like to expand the collection.

Is it the lifesize K'Ehleyr figure?

is this the nerd coming-out thread?
I think that would be a bit redundant on a Star Trek forum.
Good point, indeed.
I called out the mod, Lord Garth, [...]The scoundrel declined the duel
I once accidentially initiated a Klingon bar brawl when I growled at a board member in a Quark's bar thread. It took several pages till he finally discovered that he had misinterpreted the nature of the growl: I'm female and he was handsome

Sorry, no. Good thing, as I'm 5'2". We'd never be able to share a wardrobe.

Am I not a nerd because I have no action figures, toys, collectables, models? (Though I've secretly desired one of those neon-y lightsabers).

Or am I a nerd because I own every Star Trek series and film, at least one Trek game and LoTR (the books and the films?) :)

You're a nerd and you don't buy your computer equipment online? For shame! :borg:

Well, there are all kinds of nerd.
You have computer geeks, toy nerds, and old fashioned bookworm collectors like me

Adam Sessler once said something against the small dragon figurine in a game. He would rather have the game--I'd rather have the dragon fig...

I have mine in a box on the uppermost book shelf. But I have a map of the galaxy and a map of the moon (front and back) hanging over my desk. Does that count?

I have my blueprints too!

And after reading this thread I may have a few more things to acquire... you now, a few presents for myself, it being Christmans, and my birthday, and all... :)

but is there a real difference between nerds and geeks?

Hi.

So there I was, looking for a new DVD player for my computer that crapped out on me. I Google Computer Parts store and head on over to a small hole in the wall joint that had good reviews. I was greeted by a nice guy at the counter whom asked polity what I was looking for and walked me to the area where they kept the drives. I walked around this place looking at all of the great stuff they had when I noticed a shelf of misc items that no computer store should have. I wanted it. I read the price tag and knew I had to have it. If the price tag was labeled correctly there was no way I was leaving without it.

One TNG bridge Playset
Only thing missing is Beverly :^(

My brother saw a good E-Bay deal on the 1/350-scale Enterprise-A that he wanted me to get him for a Christmas present. I told him money is tight, so he got it ordered it himself because he really wanted to have it...

... too bad it wasn't the D. His ship would've gone perfectly with your bridge.
