Humans(2015) TV series

She will be completely loyal, after he kills his parents and inherits Anita.

Remember Cherry 2000?

Besides, humans can't "project love" that it is accountably received and registered by another human.

We just chose to believe that we are loved by those around us who seem to act like they love us, when we could as easily be suspicious and dubious to their circumspect gestures.

I just don't get why he didn't go off with the girl and then continue his crush on Anita. It's not like Anita will care that he went off with the girl.

You're advocating cheating? Sure he's mental, but at least he's faithful.

"What they do to us, they want to do it to you."

That kid wants to have a loving committed relationship that lasts forever with the perfect woman.

The actress who plays Anita, is also simultaneously in the (unfunny) Britcom Brotherhood.

There should probably be a spoiler warning in the title based on content so far.

Well, here probably thinks that the girl in question would have been interested in something more lasting (whether or not that is the case) and could be considering her feelings as well.

While the daughter continues to be awful, the son takes the blame for shagging Anita to protect his dad.........good lad.

I don't understand why people were reacting with looks and gasps of horror when the idea of screwing a synth was brought up. They're designed to be smoking hot stunners with all the necessary lady holes and sex protocols for Christ sake. "OMG, I can't believe he banged the gorgeous sex-bot."

Almost every human in this show needs a slap.

One issue I've always had with shows/films about AI is the way they very often conflate self-awareness with emotional awareness. Why would the synths feel emotions just because they're sapient, self-aware beings?

Gemma Chan is probably the most breathtaking women I've seen in any show since Jeri Ryan in Voyager.

Okay, what spoilers are allowed in this thread. UK or US?

I'm going to spoiler-tag this discussion of this week's UK episode, though I'm not sure that should be needed.

Okay, very strange that Anita seems to be fully Anita now, with no sign of her former self. I'm finding it difficult to buy that Leo can't drag up her old self after actually trying for a few hours, since we saw her old self seemingly pop up with no effort at all previously.

How in the world does police-bot-lady get away with pretending to be human? Synths seem to be perfectly capable of distinguishing between human and synth, surely about a million of them have asked her "why don't you share" by now. (Unless she does share?)

Loved Toby's explanation for why he didn't turn in his dad. Holy smokes, I felt really bad for Laura in tonight's episode. She is just being confronted with new crap threatening her position every single episode. If it's not one thing, it's another.

Odds of that last synth actually being destroyed (I think his name was Fred)? 0%, right? Congratulations Fred, I've put your brain in a phone. Enjoy your new body. (Imagine being a sentient phone.)

I love the pairing of Niska and Dr Millican. Can't wait to see what happens with them next epsiode. I feel like they could have a very profound conversation between them. I hope she doesn't just kill him.

Really love this show.

I had forgotten about my long ago crush on William Hurt and/or his voice and it's all coming back to me now.

I enjoyed the talk he had with Niska, he's so measured and she's incapable of speaking without sparring. She's convinced besting another with every sentence is part of her superiority.

Fred is totally not dead.

snippage....
Really love this show.

Considering Episode 3 just aired last night in the USA, it would be appreciated that spoiler code be used for things in Episode 4 or 5 (assuming that anywhere outside of the USA is two weeks ahead).

Q2

But I live in a country that is often weeks behind the US and the US does not spoiler code for me. I have spent years putting off reading threads because I haven't seen an episode that has aired in the US but not here. So suddenly having to spoiler tag everything because the UK aired it one week before the US seems off.

From the Spoiler sticky on this forum:

Finally, the statute of limitations on whether to consider an episode/film free of spoilers is one year from the time when it first airs, wherever it first airs. If a new episode of a series or film airs on June 1st in England then on Aug 1st in the US, the clock starts ticking on June 1st.

I think either the words UK or Spoilers should be added to the title of the thread so we don't have this discussion every week.

When I pointed out that the Walking Dead was shown in the UK, a day after the US, I received very little sympathy regarding spoilers.

The shoe is on the other foot. I'm gonna enjoy it.

By the way US readers, Anita dies horribly in episode 5.

Spoilers count for domestic markets, not the hi-jinks of foreign devils.

Or do you want to stay mum, until Latvia has aired episode 3?

Yeah, I have to say I feel the same way, so many threads I haven’t been able to look at until a season’s end, when it’s kinda pointless in many ways. Don’t see why there couldn’t be two threads on this (unless that’s against board rules?)

Start a Humans UK thread?

After slogging through the first two episodes I am happy to finally see some substance starting to ooze out between the cracks other than the crap it was oozing.

It's still not perfect, and hux is right, slapping of the characters (or the writers) is warranted but a light began to shine in this past episode and I hope it continues to brighten as the idiocy continues to fade...

TWD was only a DAY delay? I know I can easily wait a couple of days...but 2 weeks (or more) throws things out of whack...

is it at all possible to change the title to say something like = HUMANS - UK (US has 2 week delay).

That can help me to know when I can jump in.

Voyager in the US used to be 3 years ahead of where I lived.

I had to buy novelizations to find out what was happening.

You're all acting like babies.

Bob keeps telling me stuff that he just made up out of his head. Why am I such a sucker?

The Flash is a better example. That show is on Sky in the UK a week and half after the US. Pretty sure I didn't see a separate UK thread for that though.

Why do we suddenly need one when it's the US that's behind?

I agree there probably should be two threads. I'm just making a wider point
