^ That didn't work out so well for the first TV version. The "star" was barely even in the show.
Indeed.
I much prefer the series as it exists now... or rather more as it existed in the first season.
I still enjoy it, but the second season feels less cinematic and more television thus far. (I miss the epic movie-of-the-week feel from the first season)
Sooo...Fox starts burning two episodes a night starting this Wednesday. Bad sign?
Dunno. I've stopped watching. I'll treasure my season one Blu-rays, but season two has lost me.
Some of the things people have complained about so far have probably been corrected in the later half of the season and they don't want to lose too many viewers until then (i.e., Stargate:Universe, which was canceled when it finally improved somewhat after boring their audience to death for 1.5 seasons).
They did that with Dollhouse S2 and I'll let you draw your own conclusions.

Gee, the bad guy stood up, I wonder if that means one of the main characters of the series got killed.
What is this, a bad 1967 Mannix episode? We've seen this trope a billion times before.
On the other hand, Indira's expression there at the end was an exquisite bit of silent acting.

^^^ Sure, I get what you're saying about that moment, but I thought it was set up very nicely. The whole earlier disagreement about her feeling guilty for not taking the shot when she had it, her being upset that Chance was trying to protect her emotionally, and Chance warning her about taking a life; Winston and Guerrero talking about Chance always ending up saving them (and he did again), and then the expectation that Chance will save her, too -- which ends up being neatly averted. I thought it was a nice bit of character development -- Ilsa may be uncomfortable with Our Heroes' tactics at times, but she's not the priss we maybe assumed she'd be. Spiders don't scare her (unless they're Furry Arachnids of Certain Death) and she's not going to lay down and die if she has any say about the matter.
I've been watching all season, and I hope they continue. A lot of nice elements came together last night, and just want more.
Addendum: Now I realize why they are burning off a lot of episodes quickly: American Idol.

Just finished watching these two episodes back-to-back and I have to say that overall I'm still enjoying this show more than not.
Ilsa's character has been pretty slow to develop, but since they've pulled this, I have hope for her integration and future endeavors on the show.
The show is lighter in tone that in the first season and they're playing more situations for camp, but I still think it's one of the better action shows on TV at the moment.
Here's hoping for a Season 3.

I just meant that on a show where a lot of people get killed and there's usually not a lot of emotion to it (Chance is usually cracking jokes as he gets beat up), that scene was played seriously. And regardless of whether we'd seen those parts before, I thought it worked.
